This is something I felt has been overlooked and that's why I'm posting this.

This past Saturday, those who witnessed the monumental upset of the man many believe to be the greatest fighter in the history of mixed martial arts, also bared witness to two very distinctive and inspiring displays of humility."

"Following the loss, no excuses were made. No injuries were claimed, no discrediting could be found. In one of the biggest moments in the history of the sport, nothing short of humility and classiness was displayed by two men on opposing sides of the outcome.

Fedor’s reaction to his first true loss was as stoic and humble as in any of his previous victories. When asked of his performance, he stated simply, ""I made a mistake, I'll try to figure out and analyze why it happened..." "

"The evening’s big winner, Fabricio, displayed an equal amount of grace and humility in his post-fight interview with Gus Johnson. He proclaimed Fedor to be "the best… Everyone knows Fedor is the best. I would like a re-match with Fedor, he’s the best…" "

This is why I love MMA.

The very nature of the sport makes it impossible for guys to go unbeaten, one shot, kick or in Fedor's case one mistake and it's good night Irene.

That's why I would the sport.

I agree. It is easily one of the most unforgiving sports there is. One wrong move, and it's over. A pitcher gives up a homer, no biggy, they can make it up. A cornerback gets burned no biggie, just 1 play, they can make it up. A soccer fullback gets burned, it sucks, but they can make up for it. A boxer gets dropped, he can wait out the count, clear the cobwebs, survive the rest of the round, and make it up the next round.
In MMA, you expose a limb or neck for a second, or get caught on the chin, your night and 3 months of preparation are over. All it takes is a split second wrong decision and your night is over.

Wow, this line is getting old. As if Canadians with their curling prowess know anything about real sports.

It's Easy to SAY U'd Rather See More "HUMILITY" Out of Sports Stars, as Fedor & Werdum Displayed, but Let's B HONEST; "Humility" is BORING...If U Had to Sit for an Hour, Watching a Guy TALKING, U'd Rather that Guy B Brock Lesnar, than Fedor or Werdum...

ALL of Us have ARROGANCE Deeeeep within...There's SOME Aspect of ALL Of Us, that we're SUPREMELY Confident About...Some just Vocalize it More than Others...U'd Best Believe, EVERY Elite Level Fighter Carries an "ARROGANT BADASS" Aura just Under the Surface...

    Ditto for Fedor & Werdum...

Truthfully, REED Finds Matter-of-Fact Arrogance To B More GENUINE, More Full of Life than "Humility" is..."Humility" is DULL, DRY & Damn Near LIFELESS....

Just relax, take a deep breath. Be confident. You are the one in control, not them.
