A Tribute to Diego “Chicoâ€￾ Corrales (by Adam Berlin)

Over the next few weeks, wherever a boxing card is held, the bell will ring ten times for Diego Corrales.

No doubt about it and no debate about it, Corrales was the kind of fighter that fight fans loved to watch. In his 45 career fights, he fought (and mostly beat) the best in the super-featherweight and lightweight divisions. He was a skilled boxer, and he packed a powerful punch, and he was blessed with the kind of long, lanky frame custom-made for the fight game, but most importantly Chico had the kind of grit that makes a fighter great.
