Fuck that was impressive. Not expected, but still impressive.

Got to say I'm becoming a fan. His chin is rubbish, but his fights with Salita, Prescott + others are all entertaining. The guy has mad speed and makes for exciting fights.

Nice KO. Salita was out of his depth.

Getting a 30-0 record is easy these days.

the fight meant nothing....it might as well have been Graham Earl again. Salita's not any better than that.

The guy is young. A 1st Rd KO defense against an undefeated guy is good for confidence.

Khan will be in some meaningful fights soon and they'll be entertaining. Whether he wins them is another story, but his KO at the hands of Prescott was hilarious and if he goes down like that again I'll wet myself.

    This raises an interesting point.

Britain has now produced two current Ali second comings. Haye and now Khan. Are there any other countries with new Ali's?

Make that 3. Hamed was considered the second coming of Ali at one point too.

You know what? I don't give a monkeys fuck what anyone says, Amir Khan is fucking AWESOME. Pacquiao is the only guy p4p who I could say definitively has faster hands in the sport. People will STILL criticise after a 1st round KO over an unbeaten guy who was a number one contender, but still praise fucking bums like Valero. Fuck those guys. Khan is the real deal and will be p4p ELITE in the next 2 years. I'm sick of the criticism, he doesn't deserve it, give the guy some fucking credit.

He did exactly what any fighter is supposed to do with a fighter who is a good few levels below them.

Shannon Briggs did that the other day as well. Shall we praise him for this same act of predictability?

No one can criticise the performance. But i could beat up my little brother like that, yet it wouldn't make me a p4per.

Please. You're comparing Shannon Briggs to Amir Khan? Khan is far more talented than Briggs man, give me a break. I am certainly not saying Salita is a world beater but he is better than Marcus fucking McGee by quite a distance.

End of the day it was a mandatory defence, and Khan won IN STYLE, in an uncriticisable performance, yet people will STILL give him shit. It's fucking ridiculous.

I couldn't give a shit if I was comparing Kahn to some can that Salita beat in similar fashion. The point is simple: you are supposed to have an easy tiem with opponents who don't belong in the same ring as you. Thats the nature of the sport.

Kahn did nothing but what was expected of a guy standing across the ring with a protected heap of shit.

Grow the fuckup or move on.

So there was absolutely nothing impressive about his performance? Come on Tam, I'm not disputing that he was expected to beat Salita but the way he did it was impressive. The guy has all the tools to be an elite fighter, except for his chin maybe (which, I might add, is NOT as bad as people make out).

Honestly, Bradley would get smashed by Khan. I really hope he takes him on next, because it would be ridiculously easy. Fucking Maidana and Ortiz as well, they'll all get beat.

Honestly, no there wasn't anything impressive in that performance. Salita is a boderline top 30 fighter in a weak division. He's terrble. Kahn had beaten better fighters than this scrub years ago.

This is why I can't take you serious. You're like an emotional little fifteen year old, typing away like this.

I can't believe what a can Salita is. HOW was he undefeated? Just how bad were the guys he beat? He looked like a novice in there, and he has an absolutely glass chin.

    A few things:

    1) he's fought absoultely nobody
    2) He's been down, hurt and struggled against that comp
    3) he was also soundly beaten on more than one occassion
    4) he's a jew who's popular in NYC and has had the commission on side to pull him out of trouble

OK, yea, despite the fact he beat the guy who beat Maidana he's going to get knocked out by those guys....right...

And before you say it, no I don't believe in this A beats B and B beats C so therefore A beats C shite, but to suggest that he can't handle guys like that is ridiculous. I see nothing in Bradley, Ortiz or Maidana that Khan cannot handle comfortably. I am not an emotional fifteen year old or whatever disparaging comments you want to make about me, I call it how I see it, and I don't see many guys in the 140 division who will give Khan trouble. If I am wrong, I'm wrong, and I'll hold my hands up, but I will say it right now, I believe he is the best in that division by a LONG way, and hopefully the fights will happen so I can be proven right.

I am not getting carried away and saying he is going to beat guys like Mayweather and co right now, I'm saying he is IN MY OPINION the best light-welterweight in the world, and is still learning. When he improves to the level I think he can get to, I think he is going to become one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. Just like I called with Manny Pac back on secondsout, I caught alot of flak for that as well, we saw what happened.

Just got back from the Arena. The atmosphere was pretty fucking good although the beers have cost me a fucking fortune... Khan got a pretty good reception; so much for all the negative shit he was banging on about pre-fight...

It has to be said that salita was absolutely shocking. He literally collapsed as soon as Khan hit him. Appalling, and even worse than I had reckoned before the fight. The mismatch claims were true, it seems.

Fair play to Amir, though- he seemed to know that salita was gash and went after him from the first bell. His chin is woeful, of course, but he really is world class off the front foot- bags of speed and decent pop when he sits on his punches and doesn't slap.

Overall, a good night was had, though I didn't exactly get much value for my £60. Still, at least I got pissed...

    MTF :hammert:
