Khan doesn’t do well in MMs. But I do think this is a match up he wins. Even the pre-Breidis Prescott version of Khan. I think Amir outworks and out speeds him all night and gets a late knockdown in on him. Khan via UD or late stoppage.
Khan was shit at 135, primarily because he had no business at the weight. Khan smokes that bum at 140.
When Khan was with Freddy Roach I actually thought he was close to elite level at the time before he ran into Danny Garcia. I'm still amazed that he beat Maidana and survived from getting stopped. I think Khan at his best would have been 2 fast for Ryan. Although there's always a chance of Garcia eventually finding the target and Khan not recovering from it.
Yeah, Ryan is so straight up and stiff, and keeps his chin in the air like an idiot, Khan would find his chin very quickly.
Ryan is even stiffer than Khan. That’s one of the main things I notice when he fights. He has no upper body movement or fluidity at all. He’s like a statue. And when he exchanges he’s wide open. It’s the very reason I think Khan would be a problem for him. Fast handed, offensive minded and I can see him landing that one-two on Ryan who himself only has hand speed.
Man, after last night, I don’t think would even matter. Even pre Freddie Roach Khan at 135 would beat the breaks off of Ryan. Khan would stop him.
Khan was SO bad and fragile at 135 it was ridiculous though. He was getting dropped and hurt by worse guys than Garcia on the UK domestic scene. He improved dramatically once he moved up and I'd heavily favour him at the higher weights, but it does need pointing out just how fragile he was at 135 before picking him.
While I agree with the point, it does need mentioning that Garcia managed to land FIVE of 203 jabs last night.
