I really dont like to get caught up in what a particular fighter is making for a fight. All that I care about is that they put on a good shoiw and do their best.

When you compare what Silva earns to that of a boxer / football player etc I think this is fantastic news. He deserves to paid and paid well..

percentage of the PPV is more likely, isn't it. Has anyone ever made a flat fee of over a million in the UFC?

That was a rough fight for Tito and Forrest. Forrest needs one more fight with Stephan and he needs to retire too.

I loved when Silva was getting interviewed after the fight and he brings Chael over and puts his arm around him. Chael sits there looking like a sad little kid who just got his favorite toy stolen. Serves him right, Silva made him look like a fool in and out of the ring.

Chael knew he didnt even belong in there with Silva. He talked his way into that fight.

He might have won if not for the illegal leg to the face.

Sonnen has won 90% of the 30 minutes he has been in the ring with Silva and he knows he doesn't belong in there with him? Come on.

Sonnen has just switched to playing the humble card over the past couple of months due to his call from Renzo Gracie.
hahaha...whatever. The guy is just having fun with everyone playing a WWE part.

The knee was to the chest and was not illegal.

The knee was shown in slow motion durring the PPV. Its not even questionable. It was an amazing Knee. That being said, Sonnen said that legal or not legal, who gives a shit?

There is no way Silva could have punished Chael worse than that. It was the most humiliating move possible. Excellent job Anderson.

You and I never agree, but I'm with you here. Shoeshiner really shows his lack of understanding if he thinks Sonnen doesn't belong in the cage with Silva.

Sonnen has absolutely dominated Silva in 5 out of the 6+ rounds they've fought.

I hate steroid cheats worse than stepping in dog crap, but Sonnen deserved both fights with Silva without question.

And the kicker is that he is still probably the biggest threat to Silva at 185.

I agree he deserved the first fight, but he was fast tracked to a title shot based on how well he did in a fight where he failed the drug test. That I do not agree with at all.

No, he beat Stann and Bisping to get the rematch. It's not like he got an immediate rematch based only on the first fight.

But I really don't want to argue Chael's worth because when you boil it all down, under my rules Chael would never fight again for failing a drug test and 'needing' TRT.

I agree with all of this, including the stuff I didn't bold.

As to the knee, if the thigh hit him in the face, it was an illegal kick to the head regardless of where the knee landed.

I thought on the replays, the leg might have hit him in the face, but it was hard to tell. These screen shots are showing the knee didn't land in the face, but they aren't conclusive about the the thigh as far as I've seen so far.

Let's be honest here, Stann is never fighting for the title. That was a gimme and Bisping? The guy has been hovering around the same level for a few years now. He wasn't about to get a shot either and the only reason he will now is there is nobody left.

After doing some looking, I think it is probable that the knee did hit Sonnen in the face and ended up on his chest as Silva comes down.

Play around with the 1:16 mark and you will see how Sonnen's head was tilted forward and then snaps back as the knee comes in. That wouldn't happen if the knee had landed only to the chest. Also, look at how high Silva's knees are when he is standing up. There just doesn't seem to be a path that the knee can take to get to his chest without the face getting hit.
