He said that Judah was mentioned as a possible opponent. I really want this fight to happen. This would be a great fight.
Interesting to see if Zab steals one outta Tarver's playbook and settles for marginal opponents while in the steppingstone stage of his career. I don't see Zab coming cheap for a fight like this, and not quite sure Berto is enough of an attraction to justify whatever it'll cost to get Zab in the ring.
Zab is a "thousandaire" as Mayweather put it. He shouldn't be in the business of turning down fights.
zab should see how he does at 154 in his next fight look for a fight vs. forrest. forrest cant fight southpaws.
I know you know more then me at the negotiating table but Zab doesn't seem like a guy interested in money. Hes shown me with his recent activity that he likes to fight. How many guys would have been back in the ring twice within 5 Months of getting their ass whupped by Cotto. I think Zab would take this fight in a heartbeat regardless of money unless a bigger fight comes up for Zab like Margorito, Clottey or maybee Quintana.
Zab is BARELY a Welter... He'd B Giving Away ALOT of Size @ 154...He's SMALLER than Sugar Shane is... REED
Exactly.. Zab likes to fight.. this will be a tough fight but Zab will whoop him just like how he whooped Floyd for the first few rounds of their fight.
Who else is there for him to fight. He isn't ready for Mayweather, Cotto, Mosley, De la Hoya, Williams or Cintron. So he has to go after the next tier like Judah, Margorito, Clottey or Quintana.
Yeah this seems like a bad time to fight Judah. He's in another valley and usually has a caged tiger feel; most fighters should wait while he's near an upswing and he's cocky as hell. If Berto puts it out there, Judah has shown a track record that he will take what's offered. He needs to be very careful. Even if he wins he'll take a guaranteed pounding.
Bloody hell, I didn't even realize Zab fought since Cotto. Was it even televised? Why did he look awful?
Apparently it was on FNF. I haven't seen it, but the posters here who did all said he looked terrible.
Judah didn't look great in his last fight but he didn't come close to losing either. Andre Berto has never looked all that spectacular to me.
That's what makes it interesting. Either Zab can still be a contender, or he's relegated to gate keeper status. If Berto wins he finally has a win over a name opponent, or he has to evaluate his career. I suppose "crossroads" fight could be a term used here, but with more possibilities in terms of how the actual fight plays out.
Usually Zab looks spectacukla against bums but not this time. Even against his bum he didn't look as quick as normal. Wasn't very accurate either. A lot of people have been picking certain fighters based on experince lately and been wrong a lot. There becomes a time where you are experienced but also well past your best.
