Lee has surprised me by winning the WBO 160lb title.

I think he beats Saunders pretty handy, and Eubend Jr. too if he wants some of it.

Would a win for Golovkin over this guy could for anything...:dunno:

I honestly thought that bum had died. His winning a title is far more indicative of the appalling state of the middleweight division than it is of anything else. He's garbage.

Well, that big goofy oaf Chavez Jr. beat Lee without much fuss and we all know GGG is a far superior fighter. Has Lee improved since that loss? That doesn't matter. Lee's not a slick operator and a win for GGG over him would be expected and no-one would batter an eye-lid.

I guess if he strings together some more solid wins he would be a reasonable enough opponent but how old is he now, late twenties/early thirties? It's not as if there is going to be any dramatic improvements.

Lee's a nice guy I'm delighted for him. He should bring the title home and make a few quid Vs Saunders, Murray etc.

Koborev is not scrubby. He's a top guy at 160 and was easily handling lee before he got caught.

Maybe scrubby is an exaggeration, but I youtube'd him and he doesn't look like a good fighter. Pretty basic and hittable, without much power. He doesn't look like a good fighter at this level, put it that way.

I would expect Gaybox to crush him in 1 sided fashion :kidcool:

They said his amateur record (in world competition) was 300 w 15 losses.

The guy knows how to fight. Before he got knocked out last night, many were figuring him to be among ggg ' s top comp.

Thing is, any fighter can be KO'd (including pacquiao).

As fans we get what we vote for. If all we vote for is guys who are undefeated and anyone with a loss is a scrub, wwe should not be surprised when thurman faces bundoi.

You are mistaken. 160 and 155 and 143 and 141 are in rude shape. Its heavyweight that we need to reform.

Another proxy win for the Gaybox.

Fuck it, Gaybox should get a US passport, move to Tehran, and Obama can declare victory by proxy.

Delighted for Andy Lee, always came across as a thoroughly decent sort, and he is also quite handy at the punditry and media work. Having said that, I wouldn't bet on him almost regardless of which of the names he is linked with in terms of 1st defence. Can't forget that he has been well behind on the cards when he has pulled it out on both of last two occasions. I'd have Saunders beating him by decision. He should get in a defence against Macklin, will put some bum on seats and Macklin is badly faded.

Lee-Macklin is a good shout. Been talked about for ages now. If an offer came Macklin's way, he and his team would find it difficult to refuse, especially after what happened to Macklin in his last outing. Would be a big hit in Dublin.

Korobov is scrubby. Had the misfortune of seeing a few of his fights, and he's clearly not a good fighter. Not surprised at all that he lost to Lee.

I agree any fighter can be KO'd, I'm talking about his other fights. He really doesn't look like a top level fighter.

That is a very impressive record, but he wouldn't be the first standout amateur to not be an elite pro would he?
