Andy lee vs kelly Pavlik

Manny Stewart keeps saying Lee will take Pavlic in 12 months. personally I think he has a great shot. His languid and awkward style could give Pavlik problems and Lee CAN bang a bit. He is a REAL danger to Pavlik IMO.

Watch out for this guy.

I don't like him one bit, but I recognise his talent. Stewart just might be right,

It could potentially be a big matchup in the northwest, if Lee beats a few names first.

 

Lee is ridiculously average.

 

He looked worried when the last scrub he fought punched back, but he takes Pavlik. :doh:

 

Way too early to make an overstatement like that....but waayyyyy too early about talking about Lee's chances against the best middleweight out there today as well.

 

It's not to early, I watched the guy fight and I don't see it. He's average.

 

So, no great fighters have ever fought a bad fight?? Especially early in their career.

You cannot form an educated opinion on anyone or anything with a single look.

Like I said,...too early to tell either way.

 

Lee is a good prospect, but he is too green to take on Pavlik. He is at least 18 months away from being a legitimate contender, IMO.

The boy has skills, though. No doubt about that...

 

Maybe it's to early for you to tell but I know what I see.

 

Seriously, the boy is still very, very green. But he has talent. And a lot of power.

In 18 months or so, he'll be a live contender Val...

 

I think Andy Lee would beat Pavlik right now, he's a damn good fighter. If/when they do meet my money is on him.

DMAN until recently, I didn't realise how bad you were at picking fights. Have you picked a fight correctly in the last few months?

Val is right, Lee is average. Pavlik would batter the shit out of him, it would be more 1 sided than the miranda fight.

Miranda would beat Lee, so would Taylor, let alone Pavlik.

 

I just watched Lee's latest fight, that I hadn't seen, against Fajita.

He wouldn't stand a realistic chance against Pavlik, not now, not in 18 months.

Lee is not world class, to be honest even his power doesn't seem world class. He seems like a decent fighter, and a decent puncher. It's going to take a lot more than that to beat Pavlik.

Anyone (DMAN) who thinks Lee would beat Pavlik right now, should cease to be a boxing fan immediately.

Lee will definitely improve for eighteen months more experience. Whether or not this improvement is enough to put him on a level with Pavlik remains to be seen, but he still has loads of time to get better. It's just Manny running his mouth and talking wayyy too much shit at this stage.

 

Part of it Steward sure, he is an annoying idiot, he runs his mouth too much and that leads to people NOT rooting for and believing in his fighters.

But in all honesty, I don't see Lee being any better than Duddy. Maybe a little better than dunne sure.

Neither do I, right now, BUT Duddy is pretty much as good as he is going to be and he isn't very good at all. The fact that he is being mentioned along with Pavlik is hilarious, IMO. Arthur Abraham would murder Duddy, never mind Pavlik.

Lee is at about that level right now, but he is young and hungry and has LOADS of potential for improvement. Quite clearly, if he fails to improve then he will turn out to be a punching bag for Kelly Pavlik to practise upon, and people saying that Lee beats Pavlik NOW need to have a stern word with themselves (as well as contemplate suicide, perhaps), but he can and SHOULD improve.

I don't think that Lee is better than Duddy, but in 18 months or so, he bloody well should be. Plenty better.

Lee is a lot better than Duddy...I think time will show that, the next 12 months ahould set him up for a title challenge sometime in late 2009...its like people forget that pavlik was hardly a sure thing to be the biggest thing in the division 18 months ago..

Absolutely, I was ready to take Lee over Duddy since the Daniels fight...Anyhow, he did sustain an easy cut in his second to last fight which might be a sign of things to come...I'd like to see him come back to the states, fight the likes of Zuniga, Zertuche, Griffin, B- fighters who will provide a decent gauge, follow it up with a sergio mora and see how he goes...
