Since Hollywood suits don't read books nor original screenplays, it was inevitable that some moron at Paramount Pictures greenlighted a remake of the 1959 classic film Ben Hur. As director they hired the dude that directed that critically acclaimed epic beloved by millions Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. In the face of Ridley Scott biblical fiasco Exodus: Gods & Kings Paramount is confident that this dude can do a better job than Scott. Boardwalk Empire actor Jack Huston will play Ben Hur, Morgan Freeman will be his gladiator trainer while Rodrigo Santoro (Xerxes from 300) will play Jesus. The production will start filming early this year with a tentative February 26,2016 release date.
