They called up BJ flores TWO DAYS AGO and offered him 150,000 for the fight.

Yeah, I heard about that. That sneaky prick Warren will try anything.

Wow, where's they dig up this guy?

He has 3 wins against fighters with above .500 records and one of them is 16-14.

Yeah but how? Does Warren have people out on the streets looking for dead bodies?

"Hey Frank i was at the gym the other day, and saw this guy. Whoooaaa did he suck!"

Frank Warren keeps pigs. I expect Francisco to visit them after the fight.

Depends on what you consider legit. He's twice as good as Enzo Maccarinelli though.

then yes, Eenzo is a solid fighter.

i guess you're right, he's lost TWO fights out of 30, which is even worse than that bum Pavlik.

He's legit no matter on what he's considering. If the guy could go 4 rounds with Alexeev he might just beat Enzo... :nono:

But when where they supposed to call him? As of Sunday night, Johnathon Banks was still fighting Enzo. Monday morning, they had to cancel an open workout, and by Monday afternoon he was off the show.

At best, Flores was getting a call Monday morning.

Plus, how much is this fight worth? The money doesn't sound great for a short-notice fight, but not sure where BJ's next big payday is coming from.

Don't get me wrong, this opponent sucks and that the fact that it's for any sport of title makes it all the more comical. But it sounds like Frank started dialing up #4-15 in search of a replacement and eventually unearthed this guy.

I guess I just don't see the issue with what took place as far as Flores goes.

Flores hasn't been the busiest fighter, either, so I wonder what kind of condition he's in right now.

Whatever the case, I hope this becomes a fight we can be talking about for real somewhere down the line.

I think I remember the fight. Alvarez was pretty aggressive early on and had some good moments. Alekseev looked a bit bothered by the pressure Alvarez applied, until he countered Alvarez, I think with a left uppercut, it spun Alvarez around and he almost rammed the cornerpost like Hatton against Mayweather. I think Alekseev dropped him one more time with a beautiful counterhook to the exposed liver before it was stopped.

i guess herbie hide was too big a puncher to risk it.

actually that would've been a good fight, two big punchers who cannot take a punch.

If the two sides are serious about putting that together, though, I figured it'd be in their interest to build it up a bit more than the last second throw-together it would've had to have been this week.

i agree....however it is worth baring in mind Warren's style....he doesn't like taking risks unless he has options on the opponent....that's what stopped the Haye fight from happening for so long.......then Haye won some belts and was considered to be very tight at the weight so Warren took the gamble.....and it backfired.....Enzo hasn't fough since, and i find it hard to imagine that Warren was offering the likes of Flores and Hide 'no strings attatched' deals, taking the same risk again (albeit vs lesser fighters than Haye)

.....the card is falling apart.....Alvarez won't last long, Nicky Cook's WBO super featherweight defence was scrapped...an actually competitive undercard bout between Paul Smith and Steve Bendall isn't going ahead....and our thus far underachieving Olympic medalists are both fighting glorified Irish pub brawlers........and you have to pay 15 quid for the pleasure......meanwhile Froch-Pascal airs for free on national tv along with the debut of 6ft 9in heavyweight prospect Tyson Fury (yes it's his real name)

This is what I'll be watching...Werren can suck my hairy plums for all I care.

Even if his card didnt fall apart, this is STILL the fight I'd be watching

    Fuck Werren...(Vol: MMVVVCCVIIIXI)

Mate, my mail has been that Banks had indicated he wasn't fighting as far back as a month ago and Warren was well aware of it and continued to sell tickets. Again, this is not the first time he's done this either.

They offered Elvir Muriqi 100,000 and then 115,000 for the fight, but he's fighting Clinton Woods on Jan 31st.

Alvarez didn´t make weight on first try. He must be in tremendous shape for a light-heavyweight.

If that's true then Banks and his people (including Steward) are in on the lie as well. I know the injury occurred last week, but this is the first I'm hearing that he was pulling out a month ago.

One of Banks' assistants told me that he hurt his ankle last week, that he thought he could ride through it but that it never got better. That was their reason for the delay.

So again, if what you say is true, then the lie runs a lot deeper than Warren (for a change).
