Chagaev is going to drop a decision (rd 11 so far). Nice uppercuts by povetkin but he can't crack an egg...his best bet is to wait for a Klit to be stripped if he hopes to pick up a belt.

Atlas is such an attention-seeker, starts shouting shit at povetin immediately after fight, I have no sound but its doubtless motivational rubbish...

Chagaev was in decent shape but he couldn't pull the trigger...nice combos by povetkin but dude is strictly second tier...he can make some good fights with the likes of arreola and haye

Yeah I was tempted, but I've spent long enough with random links for one day. Figured I used up most of my luck with the 2nd half of the Pool game which Andrew kindly supplied.

I reckon that is it now for Chagaev. The injuries, the Hep and the beating from Wlad have all finally added up.

Povetkin.....seems to try far too hard and will go NOWHERE with that scar-faced wannabe gangster by his side.

Povetkin landed quite a lot but didnt make a mark - granted Chagaev is a tough guy - but if a heavyweight lands that many clean shots and the other guy doesnt look in any trouble, it usually means the power isnt there

Yeah, it's obvious he doesn't have a major league punch and that may well be because, apart from his relatively small size, he spent a lot of time in the amateurs. The technique isn't there and it isn't going to be there because one thing Atlas doesn't inspire is confidence or relaxation in a fighter.

For instance he could discourage and back up Chambers, but only after the mid-point, when Chambers had puffed his face up a bit. Helenius punches far harder than him. Likewise the Mora fight, where he needed repeated knockdowns. Wlad had no grief with Chambers after hurting him in the second and did stop him outright, out cold, with one hook. Likewise, Ibragimov destroyed Mora in under one minute.

In short, Povetkin doesn't really have it. His only shot against Wlad would be hoping Wlad gets tired , to do that he would have to absorb an inordinate amount of leather.

There are good-money fights out there for Povetkin but with Atlas....a fuck-up is due, sooner rather than later.

As for Chagaev, he seems food for powder at this stage. A matchup with Helenius or David Haye is next.

atlas always does this. I've seen him do that to Michael Grant several times. I believe he did it to grant after an espn fight. I saw him do it to grant against some scrub on an undercard...a non televised fight.

Atlas is just a fucking moron. He's a midget-child. He comes from a middle-class family of Jewish-Hungarian lineage, his dad was a Doctor, yet Teddy acts as if he never had any guidance or help in his life. The guy is, quite simply, ridiculous. I don't rate him as a trainer and I am not sure who does anymore.

Good result by Povetkin but as you guys said, for that style he doesn't have much power. He can outland people but it is still impossible to see him defeating Klitshkos.

Helenius was getting outworked by Liakovich before White Wolf's stamina gave out and Helenius forced the stoppage. Helenius punches hard and can take a punch too, but his footwork is poor and he had obvious trouble as Liakovich gave him angles. Povetkin would probably outwork him big time but Helenius has a chance with that punch

I disagree that having a lot of amateur fights negatively affects a boxer's ability to punch hard. Hard punches score far easier and more often than taps in am boxing.

Agree completely about Atlas not getting fighters to relax. Only Moorer, who would prefer to walk rather than run from a swarm of killer bees, was immune to Atlas' everything-is-a-tightrope-and-you-are-on-the-fiftieth-floor-with-no-net routine.

Helenius is the kind of fighter who would lose to Chambers easily, but has an excellent, excellent shot at beating Wlad.

I thought Helenius was well in control all the way through,.. he's an absorbent bulldozer, I was critical of him early on, and being outpointed is inevitable, but he's strangely entertaining for a stiff, slow headhunter, and looks like a soft as shit string-bean scandanavian who belongs in a bank, but he's rolling over everybody, he's an eye-sore for the ripped and shiny hot-body forum fetish allegience, and has the face of an asphyxiated honey-eater, but it's not to be, he is actually pretty good.

The French commentator has the perfect description for Teddy's nonsense....."Psycho-Logique"

I'd say that dumb blond who was clapping has a better idea of boxing than Teddy "Batshit" Atlas.

Pretty sick combo to end it. This Helenius has power if not a whole load else. Left hook off a left-uppercut?

    Yep...

It was a Run of the Mill FNF Card & Grant had Won a Fairly EASY Decision...Nonetheless, a MIC'ed Up Teddy Atlas was Compelled to Run Off @ the Mouth for 45 Seconds or More, in the CENTER of the Ring...

If/When your Guy has WON the Fight, there's Really NATHAN Else that Needs to B Said...Especially ON Camera...Not Surprising that Atlas is STILL Pulling this Self Serving, Self Righteous BULLSHIT...

    WOW!!!...

Not a Shred of that was ANYTHING that Povetkin Could Actually USE in the Next Round...Atlas is a Sad CARICATURE of his Former Self, which was a Caricature of the "Hard Nosed, Old School Trainer" to Begin w/...

    Dead Father???...

    Really???

Just saw this when I googled "Atlas: We Can Bring Your Father Back".....:laugh11:

"I do v.much believe Lewis has Tyson's number, so it would be super hard for Tyson to ever beat Lewis even if they did fight 10 times. BUT last night i saw Teddy Atlas use his mega-motivational skills to motivate Povetkin to win teh vacant WBA regular heavyweight title off veteran ex-beltholder Chagaev in a championship performance. What if Teddy Atlas was in Tyson's corner in 2002 when he was fighting Lennox, And used teh same WWE-like motivational words of necromancy about Cus D'Amato instead of his father? I do say there would be a canny good chance to turn teh fight around, if Atlas gave a powerful motivational speech like teh one below to Tyson after he got his butt kicked in Round 2. Would such a necromancy speech make Tyson into a warrior And fight hard like Rocky Balboa, And win a war?"

Teddy's necromancer speech to Povetkin -

to which Povetkin is said to have replied.......
