Hard to say with the lowering standards but i'm pretty confident Wright, Corrales and Castillo will get in.

The rest may, but not first ballot.

wow. They are all on the border. They definitely have better resumes than some in the Hall but if I was voting, I wouldn't vote any of them in.

    Ronald 'Winky' Wright-Yes
Antonio Tarver-Might get in but shouldn't
    Fernando Vargas-NO
    Oscar Larios-NO
Manuel Medina-Shouldn't get in but might
    Diego Corrales-Yes
    Jose Luis Castillo-Yes

Compared to some guys who are in the HOF though you can make a case for all of them.

That's exactly the issue with the HOF now. If so and so is in, then why not ...

I think Winky should get in, Corrales will get in because he was exciting and dies young, Castillo and Medina will get in because of longevity. tarver may get in off his wins over RJJ, although he shouldn't. And I don't think Vargas and Larios deserve to, although if either makes it, it should be Larios.

Which is why some of the past guys shouldn't have gotten in. It's a watered down HOF.

The problem is with most of those guys, you remember either one or two good wins, or KO losses to better fighters.

Tarver beat Roy and was the first to do it, but really, that's all he's done.

Winky beat Shane and Tito but that's all he's done even if you give him the win over Vargas, Vargas has been KO'd 4x by 3 future HOFers.

I wish the criteria was higher because the standard I see being set, is if you headlined an HBO or Showtime PPV, you get in.

Tarver has plenty of solid wins over top 5-10 guys at 175 so I would disagree with that statement.

Agreed. But the door has been opened i don't see a reversal of the watering down process.

The Boxing Hall of Fame has THE LOWEST Standards of ANY Sport REED can Think of, N Terms of Entry...

ALL of these Cats will Likely Make it, Deservedly or Not...If Any DON'T Make it, it'll Probably B Larios & Medina Based on Being LOWER Weight Cats...

N Terms of who SHOULD Get N, REED Would Vote for Chico DEFINITELY, w/NO Thought Required...He Won Titles @ MORE than 1 Weight Class, has an EXCELLENT Resume & Had Several MEMORABLE Bouts...1st Ballot H.O.F.'er on REED's Personal List...

Winky & Tarver R CLOSE...They'd B 2nd Ballot Entries on REED's Personal List...Tarver Gets N on the UNWRITTEN "Ray Robinson Rule"(Think of All the H.O.F.'ers who ONLY Got N Cause they Beat Ray Robinson:lol: ), Since he Beat a GREAT Fighter N SHOCKING Fashion...Tarver Also had a DOMINANT Ammy Career...

Another Title N ANY Division would Grant Winky 1st Ballot Access N REED's Opinion...

Vargas & Castillo would B 3rd Ballot Entries OR they'd ONLY Get N if there weren't Many Other Inductees a Particular Year, on REED's Personal List...VERY GOOD Fighters N their Own Right, but SHORT of GREATNESS...& NO Wins Over Truely GREAT Fighers Either...

N Order of who DESERVES Entry...

    Chico
    Winky
    Tarver
    Castillo
    Vargas
    Medina
    Larios

I think maybe the WBA should take over the HOF.

Then we could have regular hall of famers, and 'Super' hall of famers.

Wright is the only one I'm confident is getting in. He was the man at 154 for years and although the division wasn't that deep he beat a lot of solid guys and left the division without losing his title. Moved up, schooled Trinidad a future HOF'er himself, had a draw with Taylor which should have been a win, whooped Ike Quartey and then lost a competitive fight to Hopkins a sure fire first ballot HOF'er at a weight he had no business fighting at.

I say Wright is in for sure.

larios had a pretty good career. he's probably one of the top best super bantams that i've seen.

he's better than manuel medina and probably would've beaten him if they had fought.

medina was more of a spoiler, but he's won the featherweight title on 5 different occasions, but always lost soon after winning the belt. he's had some good wins tho.

i guess you could make a case for all those fighters except for vargas.

Medina should never get in, shouldn't even be close to be honest. Titles or no titles the guys he beat to get them often times were crap. Then, he got bashed several times. Never know with the current HOF though.

I think Chico's gumshield should be there. It won him fights and is probably the only thing that went on canvas more often than Corrales himself.

You are a Roy hater and yet use those fighters to prop up Tarver, not the other way around. You could take those names off of Roy's resume and he still makes the HOF.

I am not a Roy appologist but no I don't hate him. It would actually help Roy to get a couple of those names off his resume though.

I think that's a great idea. Many times you have a weak "class" and some people get in basically because of a quota system. If somebody was not worthy but was on the ballot, i think you make them an interim hall of famer and replace them when somebody better comes along in the next induction. :bears:
