I've only seen a couple of Lockridge fights so i'm not sure. Very interesting fight though.

I think Azumah just edges it, real close

Lockridge gave everybody great he fought a miserable time

Azumah would have to be more of a jab and mover on this fight

Good fight, I'd go with Nelson sneaking it too

In a 15 round fight, I think Lockridge might pull it out. He was a tireless worker and hard to discourage. If Nelson wins, he would have to fight from bell to bell for all 15 rounds.

Now before someone takes a look at boxrec and decides that his KO loss to LaPorte makes him "chinny", that was a bit of a flukey KO and Lockridge has demonstated a solid chin otherwise throughout his career.

Nelson by decision for me, though I haven't seen anything like enough of Lockridge (maybe two or three fights) to make a confident pick.

Nelson on pts most likely, possibly by late stoppage in a battle of natural featherweights. Lockridge a tough SOG and a real 15 round fighter with unorthodox defense, decent power and a decent chin (Juan Laporte aside). He gave all-time greats Pedroza and Chavez all they could handle and was robbed against an aging Gomez. However Nelson was quicker, hit harder, fought at a faster pace, had a better chin, was more versatile and would alternate between boxing and slugging and win a competitive fight 9 rounds to 6. If there was a knockout it would be a late Nelson stoppage, no way Lockridge could stop Nelson.

    agreed

LaPorte carried a very heavy punch, particularly early in fights and the shot he landed was one of the most perfect you can throw... Rocky ran face-first into it

But he had a very good chin... if he didn't, he would have been knocked out by any one of the outstanding other fighters he faced
