The battle of early 80's raunch. Hookers, strippers, pimps, drugs, alcohol & sex. When my family bought a VCR, Bachelor Party was one of the first movies I had on VHS & my brother and I watched it every day for one full summer. Porky's was also one of my favorites from back then. I have to go with Bachelor Party by a cunt hair.
I always thought Porky’s was severely overrated and not really funny or even good for that matter. Bachelor Party is the better of the two and the charisma of Hanks is enough to bring it up extra points. Even back then the guy had enough star power to make you watch a mediocre film but Bach P had better characters, story and comedy. I also feel like they’re films from 2 different eras and even though Porky’s came out in 81 it feels more like a 70’s film. Bach P feels more like an early 80’s film which it is since it came out in 84. I believe this is a big reason why Bach P is better. Well, that and Tom Hanks.
Porky's was lower budget. I believe the producers were Canadian and used some of the actors only known through word of mouth. It was supposed to be the 1950s in Angel Beach, Florida.
I feel like if you saw these both as a kid (which I did) you appreciate them and they become classics of your youth. Aimed at teenage audiences (especially Porky's) but I watched them when I was about 12. If you heard about them being classics and went back and watched them as an adult (and you weren't at least halfway through an 18 pack or a bottle of liquor) you were in for disappointment. BTW, I always preferred Porky's 2 (The Next Day)" over Porky's and thought most people would but it's since been called to my attention that it is an unpopular preference.

"No thanks, sir, I don't drink." "BULLSHIT! I don't do business with pussies. DRINK UP!" The only other movie I saw that fat fuck in was Better Off Dead. He was John Cusack's boss at the diner.

Yes. We had a choice. My brother & I could each have our own room or we could share a room & also have a playroom with toys, train tracks a record player and all. We chose option #2. But yeah, once that bedroom TV got hooked up to cable I would stay up all night & watch all kinds of crazy shit at a young age. All the T & A films you mentioned plus I watched the Shining, A Clockwork Orange & The Tin Drum when I was like 8 or 9. No wonder I'm so fucked up now.

I misspoke ....I also haven't watch either movie as an adult...I think the first time I watch Porky's I was 9-11 yrs...I just thought the people on it were UGLY...That Kim Catrall scene did gave me a tickle...and Bachelor Party had prettier "girls"...but I haven't seen either since my teens...
