    Problem with Elba is that he is too old, too well known and isnt a leading man. Has he made movie where he was The staring role and the movie did well at the Box Office?

    Old or not I actually think the studios missed a golden opportunity to cast Elba here. I think the support from the black community would have been on a near Black Panther box office level. Elba has the charisma and looks to pull it off too.

    Casting this unknown female whom nobody really knows and has little charisma for a role meant for a man is just so uninteresting IMO. It also feels so much like they’re following everyone else down the “woke” path that it comes off a little disingenuous. I actually hope it does Ghostbusters female reboot critical acclaim and box office numbers.

    Nah with the exception of Moore Who delayed getting bond because he didn’t want the role until Connery for sure was out as bond, most were in their 30s and early 40s. Moore was wildly successful tv star also. Being older he proved himself to be somewhat successful in the movie business too. He was a safe choice after Connery. They were really pushing him because of it. Elba will be 50 by the time he takes the role, other than luther and wire has nothing significant in tv. And he was only the star in Luther. In movies he generates no interest as a lead. If they get someone that is 50 he better be as successful as Moore was at that age, and Elba is not.

    She is playing 007 in craig’s Movie. She is not getting her own movie as bond at least not yet. Craig is retired in the next bond. When he returns this women will be a 007. 007 is a rank of spy. They have 006s, 009s, 0011s, etc. There are up to 9 and possible more 00s with MI6. 007 means an agent with a license to kill on the field. It doesn’t mean James Bond. It’s likely this women dies. James Bond is just one of money agents that have had a 007 rank in the MI6 bond universe.

    And James Bond no more who it isn’t going to bring in the same audience as black panther. Black panther was all about celebrating being black and black heritage. Bond won’t be about that. Odds are his race never gets mentioned.

    The F&F franchise still makes money as well. Doesn't mean it should still be around.

    Honest to God, Casino Royale was the last good Bond movie imo.
