Hard to believe Bellator picked New Orleans as the site for this event on the same night the NFL kicks off with the Vikings in town to play the world champion Saints. That can't be good for Bellator ticket sales. Nevertheless, it's one for the DVR. There are no tournament bouts but some decent matchups involving several WEC and UFC vets. And Karahanyan is a fun striker to watch. Lightweight bout: Rich Clementi vs. Carey Vanier Featherweight bout: Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Anthony Leone Lightweight bout: Eric Larkin vs. Marcus Andrusia Middleweight bout: Matt Horwich vs. Eric Schambari
Unfortunately I think it will Cole Konrad. He is as boring as they come but his wrestling background makes him hands-down the best guy in the tournament.
Ya I have that feeling too. Although I'd love it if Grabowski beat him. Konrad is so fat he makes Roy Nelson look slim. And all he does is score his fatass takedowns and lay and pray.
And he weighs in at 265 now. The dude used to be bigger. He is the worst kind of stud wrestler in MMA. He has nothing beyond the take down. Zero sub skills. Zero GNP ability. Zero ability to pass guard. Bellator may officially end up with the most boring HW Champion in MMA.
Kanrad will win a UD. I'd love to see him get in real shape, the guy is fat as fuck but his wrestling is no joke.
Konrad has always been fat though, even in college. As far as this event, this is another one worth following. Karakhanyan vs Leone is a sublime match of prospects, although Leone moving up in weight is a red flag but should still be a competitive match. Eric Larkin making his debut will be the most intriguing thing on the card, VERY curious that he chose to fight at 155lbs rather than 145lbs....anyway, he should roll over his opponent 30-27. Hopefully he actually does stuff unlike many other stud wrestlers and finishes but meh..
