:loveballs: Any version of Hopkins makes Basilio look foolish. Carmen probably gets stopped on cuts or just plain out KO'd. This isn't even close.
well, he ain't getting KO'ed. Hopkins doesn't have the punch needed to knock out a guy with an anvil for a jaw like Basilio. I think Hopkins wins a clsoe decision by just being slick and using his jab. Basilio makes him work for it, but I like Bernard in this one.
Hopkins' size advantage is massive in this one and thats not even mentioning the skill set advantages. Hopkins wins a clear UD, losing perhaps three rounds on Basilio's aggression alone.
Dumb post .. I understand picking Hopkins to win but , making Basilio look foolish is ridiculous ... Even in losing Basilio would make it a fight even if he had to force the action .... I also don't think Hopkins has the power to hurt Basilio ... One last think to mention is that none of us have any idea what Hopkins would be like if he was pushed and gassed before the end of the fight ... As for Basilio , well we all know he can still fight very very good after he is tired ...
If its so dumb then I guess you will be able to name several of Hopkins fights where another top tier fighter pushed him and pressured him all fight long in a close fight and he just did not gas ?? Name em .. Even though Basilio took much harder punches from fighters who could clearly hit harder then Hopkins , I guess you will also be able to name a few fights where Basilio was hurt , staggered , or KO'd by an opponent that could only hit as hard as Hopkins. Until then my post stands and your last reply is null and void ...
Again , I have not made a pick and I can see people picking Hopkins. I might pick Hopkins as well. However the the information you posted above as a reason for your decision is just plain old ridiculous. Have you seen those fights ? Seriously speaking , NO-one has an "easy" time with a prime Basilio and especially if they don't have the power to hurt him ...
