But before we get into that discussion, remember the Northern Lights. Canada's answer to Band Aid and USA for Africa. Their song, "Tears Are Not Enough" also appeared on the USA for Africa LP.

I applaud the Northern Lights for what they did and the money they helped raise but the wearing of headphones in this video is over the top and ridiculous. The other two acts (Band Aid and USA for Africa) shot their videos of the actual recording in the studios so the headphones were actually being used. The Canucks look like complete posers with those things on.

Loads of good (and famous) rock/pop artists from Canada.

    Unlike Australia or New Zealand.

    Jajaja! :D

It soonds somehoo like a perverse form o’ attention seeking, but Ah genuinely like a lot o’ the songs o’ the afore mentioned singers. Gordon Lightfoot has quite a few, long songs aboot Canada in particular.

Music for A) dumb guys that think they're smart because they read Ayn Rand, B) people who find Yes too complicated, C) beginner drummers who don't realize Neil Peart isn't actually a particularly good drummer and D) comic-devouring dorks that can't understand why incredible looking women don't like them and have become misogynistic as a result

One should RUSH to the stereo and promptly unplug it

Given his laughable assertions regarding Styx and the list of groups he's expressed interest in, it's evident Doub is unfamiliar with Rush and probably wouldn't like their music very much but he'd absolutely adore their fans

Nah youve fallen into that classic trap of Rush criticism by cherry-picking the stuff they did from 1975-78.

    Ultimate FAIL.

    No, dumbfuck, I haven't

I've accurately described the band and its followers

It's absolute crap and I know for a fact that you yourself don't even like it going back to the days when you and I used to eviscerate mob

You're simply hoping to stir the pot in spite of the fact "the pot" at this point basically consists of 98% water with one slice of potato, one slice of carrot, a bite sized bit of beef and two specks of celery

    Fucking bellend cunt

    Interesting.
I have everything Rush ever did and saw them.
I doubt very much you've heard much and most of your criticisms you probably stole from somewhere else.

    Who was MOB?

    Absolute lies ... every word

You like them as much as I do and you and I first made one another's acquaintance while ripping on mob (then posting under the name "tonton") on the ludicrous secondsout subforum "smacktalkbitching" 16 or 17 years ago (you were going by "7-7-2" at the time) where we discovered a mutual affection for the music of Charles Mingus and the drumming of Dannie Richmond ... we frequently picked on mob for his daft pronouncements regarding such fourth-rate pretend-middlebrow refuse as Rush and Kansas

Your Achilles heel taste wise was tuneless crap like Deep Purple and ELP but you were a sharp observer and denouncer of the likes of Rush and Kansas to say nothing of even lesser trash like Styx (who lacked even the chops of those bands leaving them with only the similar ghastly "message" and the schmaltzy pretensions of lead closeted fag Dennis DeYoung)

If the average asshole can name 10, including non-famous people they personally know, I'd be amazed
