    Hard to beat this one:

" Voila! In view humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the “vox populi” now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin, van guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous

Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V"

I struggle to think of any actor besides Hugo Weaving that could have pulled that off.

Marlon Brando 'On The Waterfront' speech:
    Terry:
It wasn't him, Charley, it was you. Remember that night in the Garden you came down to my dressing room and you said, "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going for the price on Wilson." You remember that? "This ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart! So what happens? He gets the title shot outdoors on the ballpark and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palooka-ville! You was my brother, Charley, you shoulda looked out for me a little bit. You shoulda taken care of me just a little bit so I wouldn't have to take them dives for the short-end money.
    Charlie:

Oh I had some bets down for you. You saw some money.
    Terry:
You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it. It was you, Charley.

Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi distills pure magic in the very first Star Wars and has quite a few memorable monologues in that film. But to me the one that stands out is this one, when he is saying farewell to Luke:

"I don't think you boys can help. I must go alone (looking at Luke) your destiny lies on a different path than mine...(pause) the Force will be with you, always!"

I'm not American, but i do like these American Patriotism speeches in films:

    Crimson Tide - Captain Ramsay

"There's trouble in Russia. So they called us. And we're going over there and bringing the most lethal killing machine ever devised. We're capable of launching more firepower than has ever been released in the history of war. For one purpose alone: Keep our country safe.
We constitute the front line and the last line of defense. I expect and demand your very best. Anything less -- you should've joined the Air Force. This might be our Commander-in-Chief's Navy, but this is my boat. And all I ask is that you keep up with me. And if you can't, that strange sensation you'll be feeling in the seat of your pants will be my boot in your ass."

    Independence Day - President

"Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind; that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interests. Perhaps it’s fate that today is the 4th of July and you will once again be fighting for our freedom. Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We’re fighting for our right to live, to exist. And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: ‘We will not go quietly into the night!’ ‘We will not vanish without a fight!’ ‘We’re going to live on!’ ‘We’re going to survive!’ Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"

 That Independence Day quote is (rightly) regarded as one of the worst movie monologues of all time. It's absolutely fucking horrible.

Only because Bill Pullman is a horrible actor.

Have that speech delivered by Morgan Freeman, and it'd have been a great monologue.

I couldn't disagree more. Even I wanted to join the air force at the conclusion of that speech, shit was inspiring.

the LOTR films have some underrated monologues:

"You think you are wise, Mithrandir. Yet for all your subtleties, you have not wisdom. Do you think the eyes of the White Tower are blind? I have seen more than you know. With your left hand you would use me as a shield against Mordor, and with your right you would seek to supplant me. I know who rides with Theoden of Rohan. Oh, yes. Word has reached my ears of this Aragorn, son of Arathorn, and I tell you now, I will not bow to this Ranger from the North, last of a ragged house long bereft of lordship! " - Denathor

That movie had quite a few cringe worthy scenes, but that speech took the price. I was literally covering my ears whispering 'dear...God!' while others were just laughing. A few people did applaud in all fairness.

All'a'y'all are crazy. That speech was great....and it was well delivered.

By the way...Independence day is a guilty pleasure film of mine...I watch it at least twice a year.
