Hard to beat this one:

I struggle to think of any actor besides Hugo Weaving that could have pulled that off.

Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi distills pure magic in the very first Star Wars and has quite a few memorable monologues in that film. But to me the one that stands out is this one, when he is saying farewell to Luke:

"I don't think you boys can help. I must go alone (looking at Luke) your destiny lies on a different path than mine...(pause) the Force will be with you, always!"

Have that speech delivered by Morgan Freeman, and it'd have been a great monologue.

I couldn't disagree more. Even I wanted to join the air force at the conclusion of that speech, shit was inspiring.

 

the LOTR films have some underrated monologues:

"You think you are wise, Mithrandir. Yet for all your subtleties, you have not wisdom. Do you think the eyes of the White Tower are blind? I have seen more than you know. That movie had quite a few cringe worthy scenes, but that speech took the price. I was literally covering my ears whispering 'dear...God!' while others were just laughing. A few people did applaud in all fairness.

 

All'a'y'all are crazy. That speech was great....and it was well delivered.

By the way...Independence day is a guilty pleasure film of mine...I watch it at least twice a year.
