Jung Koo Chang or Jeff Fenech?

I'd take Chang for both. Had Fenech gotten the win over Nelson, it's a different story for greatness.

Chang for both, but not by much in either. I would say the greatness gap is a bit more clear though, as Chang is the 108 GOAT and Fenech doesn't have a one sided win over anyone as good as Zapata.

Still, not a huge gap in either, but Chang does have the edge. He was a more dynamic talent.

It'd be a fucking awesome fight if they were both the same natural weight, BTW. I'd pick Chang in a P4P match though, due to greater versatility.

I think the gap for who was better so wider than greatness, but yeah. Chang for both.

I dont think the better gap is much.

Fenech peaked at 122, and at that very brief peak he wasn't far off from Chang's peak.

I think physically, Jeff was tougher, had better conditioning, was stronger and hit harder, but that's more because he colossal at 122 whereas Chang was a pretty standard sized light fly. Chang was crazy fast though, even pound for pound, and his reflexes were mental. Chang was miles more skilled and creative IMO. Not to mention being one of the best ring general's in lower weight history. Fenech's skills went from being quite underrated to overrated IMO, he wasn't a very technical fighter bless, but he definitely wasn't a Bazooka Limon or something.

I think the gap between who's better is pretty clear, although not wide.

Fenech was extremely skilled, but I mean, it's all relative.

Was Fenech as skilled as Duran, Napoles, Chavez? No. But he's still among the 10 most skilled pressure fighters of all time. Chang is as well.

None of these pressure fighting hacks today understand how to effectively infight, and create space in close quarters like Fenech could. He also had a good jab to get inside.

I disagree, I don't think Fenech was extremely skilled. Being able to get inside and stay there isn't a particularly difficult skill to master, it's being tough enough to do it consistently that's impressive. In terms of pure skill, I doubt I'd have Jeff in a top ten for pressure fighters.

Chang was by far and away the more skilled of the two IMO.

I personally think its pretty close in terms of resume. Fenech edges that with wins over Zaragoza, Zarate (shot), Payakaroon, and a highly debatable "draw" against Neslon that he should have gotten a win, although I am still very impressed with Chang's demolition of Zapata in the rematch. I wouldn't argue at all with Chang as the greater fighter overall.

I would say that Chang was a bit more versatile skillwise, much harder to predict, unorthodox attack, and was much faster on his feet.

A shame that we didn't get to see a prime Chang in with Humberto Gonzalez.
