Lampley and crew sounded like they were watching Ali-Frazier! Are these guys drunk? What an awful display of "boxing" these guys are slower than molasses
It was disgraceful stuff. HBO is so desperate for stars that they've reached a point where they'll literally make up shit to hype a guy. They knew deep down that Miller is a bum. Just shamelessly trying to push an agenda because Showtime is flogging them like a runaway slave.
I enjoyed it. in the sense of ridiculousness which i'm always a fan of.. the downside i sometimes wonder though.. someone kinda new to boxing.. or say an MMA fan that tunes in for a boxing card... sees this crap and the commentators saying "Big Baby has some of the quickest hands in the division!" wouldn't they be like "WTF?" Seriously.. for Roy to praise Baby's hand speed is beyond ridiculous
20 years ago, HBO wouldn't even air a fat bum like Miller. Not even on B.A.D. Merchant would have crucified him, and correctly called out his fight with the scrubby frog as a joke. Fast-forward to 2018, and they're so desperate that they compare him to both Tyson and Bowe, in the same night.
What Choice Does HBO Have, Fellas? Do Ya’ll REALLY Expect Them to Make an On-Air ADMSSION Along the Lines of “.....As You Know, Al Haymon’s Owned Us for the Last Several Years, Then Top Rank’s Defection to ESPN Effectively CRIPPLED Us”..??? Of Course They’re OverSelling Big Baby....And Until Joshua Signs the Dotted Line, Who the Fuck Else Does HBO Have???... Think About It, Liam Smith Pulls Out of his Title Shot vs. Sadam Ali Last Week, Scheduled for May 12th...REED’s Thinking the Bout Will Be Postponed Or Cancelled Outright...It’s Fucking Sadam Ali vs Liam Smith; the Needle Ain’t Moving at All Over This One, Right???... Noooooo, HBO NEEDS this Fight! Sooooo, Instead of Dismissing a Bout (Maybe) 30% of Hardcore Fans Actually CARES For, HBO Replaces Smith with Jaime Munguia... Instead of Being Pissed Off About HBO’s Content of Late, Ask Yourself HOW and WHY They’re in that Position in the 1st Place? HBO’s Taken Some SERIOUS L’s the Last 2-3 Years, in the Boxing Broadcast Industry. Tbey’ve GOT to Wax Poeticc About ALL 5-10 Fighters on their Flimsy Ass, Depleted Roster... REED
Speaking of Ali-Munguia, I think Munguia has a good chance. Granted, he's never fought anybody on Ali's level, but he's young, undefeated, and has power... and Ali has a shit chin and isnt that hard to find. It's probably gonna be too much, too early for Munguia, but if he wins I wouldn't view it as a huge upset.
