The winner of the third season of "The Contender," IBF #4, Sakio "The Scorpion" Bika (27-3-2, 17 KOs)captured the IBO super middleweight title with a third round stoppage of "The Pride of Providence" Peter Manfredo Jr. (31-6, 16 KOs). Time of the stoppage by referee Ricky Gonzalez was 1:50 in Manfredo's backyard at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, RI. The shocked crowd voiced their disapproval of the outcome as Bika outlanded Manfredo Jr. and beat him to the punch with punishing hooks that had the hometown favorite, Manfredo Jr. on his heels throughout. Manfredo Jr.seemed timid from the start as Bika instantly found his range and landed without much trouble. Manfredo Jr. was credited with a knockdown in round two which was a punch that landed, however Manfredo fell to the canvas with Bika as it appeared to be more of a push. Bika complained as he took out his frustrations in round three landing a barrage of hooks on Manfredo Jr. that he was unable to recover from.

a fight I would actually like to see is Bika against Froch. I think Bika would destroy him mind, body, and soul:mj:

Nice, or Bika vs Andrade

I don't know how Bute managed to beat him.

I think Froch is a little tougher than Bute.

He is tougher, but he isn't better. You need to box and move vs. Bika otherwise he will give you a nasty fucking night at the office. Bute can do that, Froch can't.

I'm not particularly surprised. Manfredo is shit, and Bika is pretty strong and tough at least.

I'd love to see Bika vs Mundine but it appears AM is determined to drop to MW.

I think Mundine would beat Bikky up with his back, Mundine impliments that illegal shoulder roll shit lest we forget,...but Bikky verses Danny Green would have shook a tucker-bag full of nippers,.... me and Reed's jaws would drop, if that match was ever announced.
......it's just a pity that Green turned into a poof, sashaying infront of a band and biting out-stretched vagina on television, no...... that isn't a contradiction, it's poofy because he's wearing flowery ballerina gear while he's doing it :shit:.

Nice to see William Gill get some love on the broadcast. I fell asleep during the Grady Sewer-Cornelius Bumdradge fight and woke up about halfway into the Codrington-Gill fight.

First time I met Gill was in a losing effort to Elvin Ayala at the Mohegan Sun over two years ago. He gave Ayala all he could handle and made it a close fight despite what the scorecards read. The reason why I paid attention to the fight so closely is because the day before, just in casual conversation, Gill told me that he had a fractured rib and that he hid it from the doctor.

Since then, I've seen him fight a bunch of times, and I've kindof followed his career a bit through boxrec. He's a real spoiler and gives anyone he fights a tough time with his spoiler defense (Shoulder roll where you're basically showing your back), but he'll trade when he has to. Jaidon stopped h im with a few seconds left in the fight, but didn't look too great in the fight.

speaking of chin checkers, curtis looked devastating knocking out some southern bum in 48 seconds last friday.

there's something about jaidon that bothers me. he looks like he's about to get cracked in half everytime he gets hit.

Because Bika isnt as good as Andrade.

I wouldnt discount Bika beating Froch, but I doubt Bika could beat Andrade.

I wouldnt mind seeing Bika-Froch though. In fact that fight should definitely be made!

Let Bika fight Froch, Andrade and Bute are gonna rematch, and HOPEFULLY after Taylor beats Lacy on saturday, he'll fight Kessler.

Why, who's he a fan of.

I thought for a moment this was the RJJ thread and you were talking about the "premature stoppage" in the Paz fight.

Manfraudo. And just a joke - he was quite upset over the stoppage in the Calzaghe fight, which went about as many rounds. Of course, there was more of a reason to be upset with the ending in that fight than last night's.

Well hopefully one day that fight happens so we can find out.

One things for sure, Bika would knock out Lacy.

Nah- Lacy is done but he is still a durable fucker: not sure that Bika would stop him though I do fancy he'd beat him.

Manfredo is :shit:, whilst Bika is prety decent; ergo this result is no great surprise...

Mendoza woulda stopped Lacy had bitch ass Jeff not tackled him.

Bika would take out Lacy. I'd say that even if by some miracle Lacy beats Taylor tomorrow.
