One has to wonder what poor Miguel Cotto is thinking this morning. He is burying his father at the same time he is trying to excavate his career. If ever he needed to be a fighter, it is now. http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/7587/borges-looking-out-miguel-cotto/
yeah. two losses - one against the best fighter in the world, the other in a close fight against a guy with loaded gloves. he's done.
Yep, and both losses against guys whom Mr.Floyd "All Roads Lead to Me" Mayweather Jr was too much of a chickensh*t to meet.::
There's nothing wrong with the article. Borges just implies that he thinks Cotto has been screwed. I think that's likely.
Both fighters with wrigged wraps, one on HGH,.. Arum knew about atleast one of them,.. if he didn't know Margarito's modus operandi,.. he went ape-shit in his defence,.. "There's no cheating in boxing!!!"..
Well what the fuck do they expect? Boxing is a crooked business just like every other business. Arum represented both Margarito and Cotto. Does Cotto really think Arum is going to chose one over the other? No! He's going to represent both fighters and look out for both fighters interests because both fighters interests reflect his own. Cotto needs to stop taking it so damn personal because if the situation had been reversed and Cotto had the loaded gloves Arum would have stood by Cotto's side just as strongly as he did Margaritos. It's a business, Arum cares about his fighters only as far as how much money they're going to bring them and that's it. If it's unconditional love Cotto's looking for he needs to look towards his parents. Uhh, scratch that. Parent.
Read the article. It takes two minutes. Cotto isn't looking for any sympathy. It's all Borges saying he deserves some. The only thing Cotto says is that he would like some privacy while he grieves for his father. Gee, what a bitch. :kidcool:
I already had glanced over it. I know Cotto isn't looking for sympathy but he did complain about Arum taking Margarito's side during the hearings back when they were going on. I'm just pointing out that Cotto shouldn't really have been surprised about what went down on that front and that I hope he isn't still bitter about it.
Cotto should be left alone if that's what he wants and he should be allowed to grieve. He has just lost his father and to be honest I'd be very surprised if boxing is anywhere near his thoughts right now. MTF
True but I sure would love to see a Margarito-Cotto rematch even though Cotto says he doesn't want to ever give Margarito a chance to make money and is not interested in the fight.
