I recently started getting my head aroud this twitter thing, and i've just started following Bernard Hopkins. I chose him thinking that he was a genuine ring legend, and also someone who'd followed his own path. Problem is, all he seems to do is retweet gobshiites who send him the most ridiculous, mundane, or pandering messages, and then whinge for a retweet. He doesn't seem to do it for his own ego, more that he's vowed to retweet EVERYONE who messages him. It's fucking shit. Bernard, if you're reading, jack it in lad. In fact, what satisfaction does an adult get from someone they've never met, retweeting their original message asking for a retweet. Nobheads. Anyway, any know of any decent boxers to follow?
I think most boxers post alot about where they are going on a certain day and how their training is going etc. I hardly go on twitter, but I do follow DeGale, Khan, Froch, Ortiz and Pacquiao. I also follow retired boxers Lewis, Hatton and De La Hoya, You can also follow fightbeat on twitter.
We get most action from the wannabes and young amateurs, not the established big name boxers or MMA guys. We have tweeted articles like who is the best trainer - Bernard Hopkins etc and nothing from the protagonists. Zab Judah retweets anyone who says "yeah Super best in world, fastest around YO!!" - alas we haven't gone there yet. Jake isn't following us either. :(
I check out Mayweathers page now and again just to see if he's actually talking about boxing, but 97% of the time it's just him going on about how he and 50 Cent went down the park and spent all day on the swings, stupid shit like that. I check out Khans too, the shit with Malignaggi was funny, but haven't viewed it in a while. Frochs is pretty good, as is Dirrells.
