This fight could very well steal the show Saturday night as it may very well be to the death, a real fight to the finish between two good and tough guys.

This is a throwback to the fights at the Olympic Auditorium in downtown LA in the 60's and 70's, a real fight that will combine excellent boxing skills with elements of street fighting.

Rios says he is better at jr. welter as he's not starving himself, and he is probably correct.

I'll take Rios in a real bloodletting here.

They don't fight until next month, but it should be an exciting fight for sure.

I still lean towards Rios, but not by much. Alvarado is nothing special, but he looked a good deal bigger than Brandon at the press conference. And even though Alvarado isn't that big of a puncher, he's physically strong and Rios has never faced someone stronger than himself. If Mike can push Bam Bam back, he can win.

Still, I'm going with Rios. He's simply the better fighter with better offensive skills, and in the end I think that'll be the difference.

Should be a great fight either way.

What's the real shame is the GB/TR beef. Because it'd be great to see the winner of Rios-Alvarado fight either Matthyse, or Garcia.

to me this is a toss up. A year ago I would have picked Rios based on name alone but Alvarado is pretty similar to him but slightly bigger. It would be funny if Rios struggles to make 140!

Even if Rios is slightly more skilled the guy has been dreaming of a classic war so I think both guys will go in to chin check each other. Should be fun!

alvarado is more than slightly bigger. so rios skill will be the real factor here. we shall see how much more skilled he is

Initially I picked Alvarado due to his size, but since I have seen more of him I now believe Rios will win.

Rios' defense is better and does not leave his chin hanging as Alvarado does, so I see Rios landing alot.

Alvarado's last opponent (Herrera) was ultimately well beaten, but when he let his hands go he had success and Rios is far better than him.

I think this goes the distance.

I like Rios via late TKO.

I think Bam Bam will be rejuvinated at 140 and Alvarado doesn't have the firepower to keep him off.
