In his previous fight he had his orbital broken in 3 places versus Jon Jones.

And last night against Thiago Silva:

UFC will make the decision to retire easier for him by releasing him soon. 3 losses in a row means bye bye Mr.Vera.

I agree. There is no way they can keep him in a very crowded 205 pound division.

Unfortunately, we will probably see Vera on a Strikeforce card in 2011.

Remember when he said he would hold the lightheavy and heavy belts at the same time?

I don't think he should retire. He is still fairly talented. I see him being released though.

Oh well, more talent for SF.

He's a good striker and that's where it ends. Thiago wanted nothing to do with Vera standing so he had to fucking lay on him for 3 rounds. So much for Thiago knocking him out if he wants to stand and trade.

Vera will fuck some people up in Strikeforce.

I thought Vera would KO Thiago but Thiago smartly decided to ground and pound Vera thus protecting his glass chin.

Man this guy fell off the mountain.

A while ago people were talking about him being able to hold 2 belts at one time. Now i cant for the life of me think of a top contender who wouldnt roll him. Hes not even a gate keeper at this point

Man, that is a nosejob and a half, right there! The weird thing is that the punches were largely arm punches with Silva hanging onto him from behind.

:cheer: FINALLY!!! Somebody that can see Vera for what he is. Nothing more than a globally trained fighter that doesn't fight. A one-man hype machine. And people STILL think he can make waves?? Psh....as if.:notallthere:

I think he can do well in a lesser org such as Strikeforce. With Dan Henderson getting the next title shot at LHW, you don't think a guy like Vera can be a contender? He was cut from the UFC and he deserved to be. Nobody is saying this guy is a world beater.

I tend to agree with this. When you look at the fact that Henderson and Babalu just fought to determine the next title shot, Vera might win a fight or two.

This much I agree with. But all he does is talk, talk, talk, talk. I'm not a fan of the guy.

I don't think Strikeforce should sign him because if he say wins the strikeforce lhw title it will make strikeforce look extremely weak

And Dan Henderson and Babalu fighting an eliminator doesn't? SF just doesn't have a great LHW roster.

Exactly, but I really don't think SF tries to market itself as "better" than the UFC. I think they just try to put on great matchups and entertaining fights.
