I give Byrd the benefit of the doubt that he can avoid being blasted out, seeing as it happened so few times to him despite fighting so many big men. And while Briggs has some assets that can definitely trouble Byrd, I don't trust him to maintain any success consistently over an entire fight. I think the fight comes down to a debatable/split decision that can go either way.
Briggs might be ahead for three rounds or so, but even in his prime his gas tank was quite lacking and it would get pretty one-sided eventually. Briggs has the size, speed and power not to be written off completely, but considering that Byrd was a skillful survivor whereas Briggs had very little thought in his approach, I don't see Briggs KOing him
