On for July 23. A fight 4-5 years past it's expiration date. I mean, I'll watch because it's on free TV, but it doesn't mean anything. The loser should retire, and the winner isn't going anywhere except maybe to serve as a name victim for somone. Both of them wasted their careers.
Back in 2015, I was there the day that Omar Jr started sparring for the DeMarco fight. He was working with a guy named Jose Prado, an interesting choice because Jose, while a hard working guy, had zero amateur experience and 5 pro fights. That was the guy that he worked with daily. We went to spar with Jose Prado- my guy had a fight coming up as did Jose- and I was a little nervous because Jose had weeks of sparring with a world champion. When we got to the gym Jose was in worse shape than he had been on day one of working with Omar. I found out that Omar had been hitting the bars in downtown McAllen pretty heavy. That has been an issue for a long time in his career and I hope that he has that worked out because the Figueroa family are good people.
