Smith's very fortunate to be holding a belt in the current fold of 168 - in the early 2010s he'd be a whipping boy for Ward, Froch, Kessler, Bute, and Abraham.
I am not saying he did. What I am saying is that Smith probably didn't take this seriously at all. Totally blinded by his "World" ambitions and underestimating a local rival. It's why I'd put money on Smith stopping him in any rematch.
It might be a combination of underestimating Ryder and Ryder exposing a lot of holes in the Smith defense, and his inability to fight in close. I hope like Hell Smith will upset Canelo, but it's gonna be slim to none. Callum will make Canelo look like a destroyer. And make no mistake, Callum will be Canelo's next opponent. That's why Fast Eddie couldn't let Ryder get the decision.... can't blow the payday.
Nah, I don't see it. I didn't really see it before today either. Benavidez and Plant are tough matchups for Canelo. I think Callum will get chopped down.
