Would you blame him? He's obviously a better fighter than Oscar.

He also said he wants the Taylor-Pavlik rematch winner.

 That would be ugly. Pavlik would bury Roy.

Only in the mainstream. True boxing critics/fans have always held Roy on a higher status, and DLH knows this. Afterall, Oscar wasnt the one voted fighter on the decade.

DeLa MIGHT Even KO Roy @ That Weight:eeeek: :eeeek: ...

REED Never thought he'd Say this, but PLEASE Roy, SHUTthefuckUP!!!...

Oscar isn't the one who has to try such pathetic tricks in his high age.

Of course Jones was the better fighter of the two, but Oscar is the one regular sports journalists will remember & the one who made the big bucks

No need to fear REED. De La Cryingame is scared shitless of Roy. He'd never fight him at ANY weight. Oscar's last 3 fights will be against Forbes, Floyd, and my guess is he makes his last fight either a rematch with Tito, or a 3rd fight with Shane. Roy will never be in his plans.

Wonder if that's a shot at Hoya taking on Stevie Forbes. Roy can smell that Oscar money and it's making him crazy.

What ? Oscar would definetly fight him if he came down to 156.
Oscar is well aware of the advantages he would have at that weight.
Besides , if DLH is brave enough to sign a fight against Hopkins at 160 , he would most certainly not have a problem signing against Jones at 156 - if Jones is that stupid to come down that low ..

Don't count Taylor out against Pavlik. He could easily stink out the joint and pull off a decision that way. Its quite possible, but most people don't want to see it that way.

Taylor DOESN'T have the Footwork, Mobility or Jab to "Stink Out" Pavlik...

N Fact, Pavlik has a BETTER Jab...

Jermain's ONLY Chance is to KO Pavlik....

If he pulls off the hugfest he did against Ouma, doing everything to avoid contact, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him walk away with an ugly win.

    I just think its possible.

Boxing journalist's do know that, regular sports journalists (and fans) don't. What they remember is the mega-fights. Jones had one that really made headlines (vs. Ruiz), Oscar had plenty. That's the difference.

I am on your side here, Jones was the better fighter

You can run, but I don't think you can hide for 12 rounds. if taylor fights like a bitch he will wear down later in the fight IMO.

An ebullient Roy Jones Jr. (52-4, 38 KOs), energized by his win over Felix "Tito" Trinidad at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, says he is ready to take on all comers. "I told you Roy Jones Jr. is back," Jones said. "I'll take the winner of either the rematch between Kelly Pavlik and Jermain Taylor or Joe Calzaghe vs. Bernard Hopkins. I'm even willing to go down to 156 pounds to face Oscar De La Hoya in May. Line them up and I'll knock them down. I always said that with the right motivation and focus I can still be Superman. I saw it in the gym leading up to the fight and Tito Trinidad and everybody else saw it on Saturday night at the Garden. Like I said, line 'em up and I'll knock them down."

Soooon as Jermain Stepped Up the Level of Comp, his "Great Jab" All but DISAPPEARED:lol: ...

The RE w/Bernard was his PEAK, then Taylor REGRESSED when he Got w/Manny Steward...

Manny has a HISTORY of Making Tall, Lanky Fighters BETTER (Hearns, Lennox, Wlad,McClellan, McCrory, Kenty, etc.) but he Couldn't do SHIT w/Jermain Taylor...

it has to be a misprint.

i read an interview on btalk where he says 166.

if he did say 156, that's as bad as winky saying he can go down to 147.
