You don't have to say Buddy McGirt "Sr". Nobody would ever assume you would consider a match involving the Jr. to be worthy of a slot in this forum. As for the fight itself...I can't pick a winner. Palomino is no Whittaker but then again McGirt was stopped by Taylor who was a fast but not devastating puncher. Of course, Palomino doesn't have that speed but he is a legitimately bigger man.
Carlos was too determined, too well-conditioned, and too hard a puncher for Buddy. Buddy early on would have done well, but Carlos catches him down the stretch and TKO's the guy, with left hooks to the body slowing him down and setting him for the big KO blows. Again..it is a 12 round fighter vs. a 15 round fighter.
I'd pick Palomino. He managed to give Benitez a competitive fight, and big head Buddy was no El Radar.
