I might as well put this in MM, as Arum will NEVER EVER let Manny fight Casa, but if it did happen... who'd win?
I think Manny will handle the slightly higher weight well. He wiil still punch like a mule...and his speed will match or even beat Casamayor's. El Cepillo might be right for the taking, especially at his age. Manny decisions Casamayor in a close fight. opcorn:
..... As much shit as people talk about Manny being a 1 trick pony, Casamayor isn't much better these days. He mostly just throws right jabs and then his left hand. No idea who would win, but I am sure it would be a close fight.
Rabid, Casamayor isn't particularly fast. He's not as fast as he used to be, and he has never really been a speed demon, he was just sharp and accurate, with great timing etc. He didn't look any faster than Katsidis. Manny has elite speed, he'd be much faster. Manny would win by close decision, it would be a boring fight though.
Pac would waste Casamayor, what is wrong with you people. Who are Santa Cruz and Katsidis? Cruz was KTFO by that bum David Diaz, who cares if he was winning almost every round. Katsidis went "life and death" with Graham Earl, who Amir Khan wasted in 60 seconds. Amonsot was knocked out by some Thai journeyman twice. Katsidis is a great action fighter, very good he is not. And both these guys had Casamayor hanging on for dear life.
I don't know about waste, Casa is too tough and crafty for that. He would win though, without a doubt.
Okay, maybe Casamayor can cut Manny with a headbutt combination and bother him that way. Casamayor is a skilled veteran, who would have made it very difficult for Manny in his prime, but he´s on his last legs and that´s not something you want to be on against Manny. Anyway Casamayor should be the mandatory for Campbell now with the interim belt, so let them fight. Manny can give David Diaz the a**-kicking he deserves. Afterwards the winners can meet. And Juan Diaz can beat Katsidis to a bloody pulp, and then I´ll make an "I told you so"-thread, I promise. That wasn´t the best Juan Diaz we saw against Nate Campbell, and even if it was, he´s still way too good for Katsidis. :stir:
You overrate Diaz big style. He's more proven than Katsidis and may win. But that wasn't the best Diaz we saw against Campbell? Yeah that's because he was getting his arse kicked :: Come on ElTerrible, you know better than that. Diaz looked the same as always for the first few rounds, until Campbell's bosyshots bothered him, and Campbell's determination began to break Diaz' spirit. He just got his arse kicked, he's not as tough and gutsy as people thought.
Diaz´s management/trainer wanted to postpone the fight, because of an injury, but Juan thought he could beat Campbell anyway. Big mistake on his part. I hope they´ll a have a rematch and this time with a piss test.::
Oh yeah, was this documented before the fight? How bad was the injury? I didn't notice a hand injury at all. He was slapping away with the same conviction as always.
Pacquiao would beat Casamayor because he's just better at this point in their careers. It would be close in the beginning but I can see Manny stopping Casamayor on the ropes. I hope this fight happens.
pacquiao is clueless against good boxers. Even this old version of CAsamayor will pick him apart. Not to mention Casamayor is naturally bigger. Here's an idea let's wait till pacquiao actually fights at 135 and prove something before he is considered better than the champions there.:dunno:
He's knocked Marquez down 5 times (Marquez held the ropes in Round 3 during the second fight). I guess you don't consider Marquez very good. :dunno: JMM was getting outboxed during times in that fight as well. Here's Pacquiao making Marquez look stupid.
Casmayor has been around the lightweight limit since he turned pro, he's very natural and very strong at the weight...like Hopkins at middleweight. He doesn't have to be fast because his timing and accuracy make his punches count more and because he can land at distance before his opponent can cut that distance and get to him, and because he's smart enough to use punching angles from distance. You don't get close to Casmayor without paying a price, he doesn't give up real estate easily...especially not to a fighter equal/smaller to him. Casamayor is also a strong, dirty fighter who will hold, throw low blows, use his head. He may lose a point in this fight, but it could still benefit him tactically. Very difficult fight for Pacquiao.
Assuming Manny carries the weight well....I'd pick Pacquiao, and pretty confidently. If it happened soon, I'd say by decision. Casa won't have a southpaw advantage; and Manny's got faster hands and more unpredictability than Katsidis or Campbell or Santa Cruz and the like. Manny will also go all 12 while Casa will fade. Manny's right hook would be critical here. I do think, however, that Manny would get rocked by Casa left hands occasionally. Peace.
BTW...the constant flaming between the Marquez and Pacquiao contingents is getting very old, and we're going to start shutting it down. Please cease and desist. Peace.
Where the fuck is the flaming? This board is on its last legs, and you're honestly going to try and make this place shittier by over moderating debates between fans of different fighters? Good one Donny. ::
You gonna keep editing it to make it sound nicer still? :: Just keep it to the relevant threads. This crap is coming up in every thread...like it did before you left. Others are to blame on the JMM side, like Latin King for starters. It's on all sides. And keep threads intended to flame to a minimum. I'm not going to rationalize it or justify it - you know exactly what I'm talking about. I won't waste my time here, so no use replying. Just behave. Peace.
Exactly my point. I'm calling you on your bullshit attempt to over moderate this dying message board and you think I'm being nicer? :dunno: Trust me Donny when I say this, because I'm being completely serious. As a person who is involved with weekly conferences with managers of multi-billion dollar companies, there is a reason why you have managed this message board for free the past 5 years instead of being paid to do it in the private sector. You aren't very good at managing. You are causing trouble over trivialities on this message board just because you can. You think erasing one of the only reasons this place still gets post is a good managment technique? When people are debating fighters and taking jabs at each other, getting rid of that will honestly make this place better? I understand this place is dying out and you have very little work to do that justifies your position here, but seriously why are you even still a moderator? Is it because of some lack of self-esteem in your life, because I'm pretty sure it's not for the salary or for the benefit of this community judging by the way it's deteriorated the past 2 years. Quite simply, you are clueless about management Donny. Was that nice enough?
A bit of bickering between rival fans is just part of boxing and boxing fans. That's something that won't stop, and you shouldn't try. There was nothing serious going on here, and no flaming really. Just some light hearted jabs, nothing that warrants a warning etc. This IS a boxing forum, not a flower arranging forum or nursery school playground.
That's exactly how SUPER fights are created, because people on both sides of the ring get into the rivalry. Donny is trying to effectively take that out of this place, and he thinks it's a GOOD idea. The old guy is clueless. That's why other message boards are so successful and this one is down to 8-9 regular posters.
I actually know what makes a good manager, I've seen it first hand. Donny fucking sucks, so did Son of Payton.
It'd B INTERESTING to See how Each Guy DEALS w/a Southpaw... If Manny was Still a HUNGRY Fighter, REED Would Pick him to Beat Casa Rather EASILY...His SPEED, POWER & FEROCITY would Eventually Do Casa In, Inside the Distance... MINUS the Ferocity, REED Likes Manny to Win a Rather Mundane 12 Round Decision... Casa's PAST it & Not as Technically SHARP as JM Marquez is, so Manny would Have FEWER Problems... REED
