Damn...very similar to gatti out there...poor balance...slow to pull the trigger...didnt even handle ordinary punches really well either

sad to see good fighters lose to guys that im confident they would have beaten years ago

It's easy to be confident about something that never happened.

Castillo was in with the strongest, best infiighter in his life.

He was in with a guy who was every bit as good at fighting dirty as he is, plus he wasn't naturally 20 lbs bigger or fighting a guy with a bad chin.

Hatton would beat him handily yesterday, now, tomorrow, or 5 years ago at 140, its just styles and strengths.

Are we forgetting Castillo's other 7 losses?

Castillo was shot...he wasn't using his legs, he couldn't go for the attack, he waited for Hatton to jump on him, to then try to counter didn't work...

I disagree. Castillo was always a slow starter. He looked very similar against casamayor in the first half of the fight too. I will not go along witht this castillo is shot shit. Castillo moved up to 140 and fought a guy that doesnt stop coming forward. What i do think happened, was that castillo gave up. I am not saying the shot wasnt devasting, but castillo didnt have anymore to even want to continue.

I knew these "castillo was shot!!" threads were on the way. I didn't hear anyone saying he was shot before the fight. :nono:

They are only going by what he looked like in the fight. Like someone cant have a bad night or someone just doesnt want to fight. That along with Manny saying it every 10 seconds, now everyone will say it.

Castillo is definetly past it. I'm not sure if "shot" is the correct term, but it's close.

I think it's more about styles. It's kind of reminiscent of Norris-Leonard. Both guys were well past it but the problem was moreseo the opponent. The loser in each case really didn't have a single physical advantage over their opponent. They had somewhat similar styles but were outgunned in every category.

Hatton didn't dance on the outside and pot shot. He fought a fight that Castillo is more than comfortable with. He just couldn't compete with a guy who was younger, stronger and hungrier.

I didn't think it was shot, as much as having a bad night. Dont forget, he did turn it up the 2nd half of the fight. Something he didn't have the chance to do against Hatton.

Exactly as you said, too slow to pull the trigger, couldn't handle ordinary punches, right on the money, bro.

Anybody who thinks this was a prime Castillo is a blinded Hatton groupie or just plain retarded.

Ass he wasn't pressuring Hatton by coming forward...as he wasn't side steping or taking a step back when Hatton lunge in with wild swingings, and when they didn't land he would hold Castillo, or pull his head down...

Castillo, at 135, with 8 oz gloves, used to sting with his shots.

But at 140, with bigger gloves, and slower hands (owing in part to the bigger gloves), he's just couldn't keep up.

What the fuck gloves was Hatton wearing, BTW? Lionsdale? Or some shit. Didn't look 10 oz to me. Guess they were, but never seen those before.

Castillo should've stayed outside more. He landed a couple of hook that Hatton definitely felt, but Hatton's lunge and grab just stole every round. Although I though Castillo might have won the second round. Not sure.

Hatton's basically a hack. He goes in there, tries to control his opponents arms, and lands sucker shots in between clinches. It's effective, obviously, and difficult to deal with. BUt he'll get knocked out fighting this way, you watch.

Thing is, at 140, who the hell's he gonna fight? Harris? Witter? Both of those fights would be boring as hell.

ONly fight Hatton's gonna be in that's even remotely entertaining is the one in which he gets KTFO. And even then, it'll only be the seconds leading up to and following his tragic trip to the canvas with his mother crying in the stands.
