Knock the man the fuck out who had previously knocked them the fuck out. Very few have been able to achieve this. In most cases when you are KO'd in the first fight you also lose the second. In most of those cases you lose by KO again (Liston-Patterson, Foreman Frazier, tyson-Bruno, Jackson-McClellan etc). If you managed to last the distance it's because you fought a very careful fight (Forrest Mayorga, Benn-Eubank). Of the very few that win the rematch, the majority do so by clever tactical decision (Norris-Brown). But Knocking out the man that knocked you out is reserved only for the elite of heart and courage. It takes true guts to step into the ring with the man that knocked you out before and then go there with the intention of knocking him out in return and actually achieving this. It shows heart and it shows depth of character. Lewis-Rahman 2 Louis - Schmeling 2 Graziano - Zale 2 Zale-Graziano - 3 Patterson- Johansson 2 Castillo - Corrales 2 Wlad - Brewster 2 Who else joins this elite team?
Not Tszyu vs Cool Vince or Hatton, that's for damn sure :kidcool: But yeah I can't think of any other examples, the Zale - Graziano ones are definitely good examples. How I wish most fighters still had that much balls these days.
Lewis shoudn't count either. He came in a fat ass, and got knocked out for it. Had he bothered to get into shape the first time, he wouldn't have needed a second try. It's Hasim fucking Rahman! No testicular fortitude points for this.
fuck you Whethe rin shape or not, getting knocked the fuck out would have the tendency to affect confidence.
That is why I LIKED the thread style. It is an elegant way to say balls::::I watched WWF from like 7-10 and I STILL MISS the biased commentary of Jessie Ventura.
