Depends on the weight. Lopez beats him at 105 IMO, but gets annihilated at 108. I'd give Choch more chance at 105 than I'd give Finito at 108. And that's not because I think Lopez was too small for 108, he wasn't Gonzalez hit his peak at 108, whereas Lopez was on the decline.
Surprised about the picks so far. lopez to me seems like the better sharper boxer. I think he'd win a competitive one
I echo what George said. I pick Lopez at 105, but I wouldn't be certain of it. Choco beats his ass at 108, and I'm pretty certain of it. If we're talking 108, then Chang vs Choco is a better question.
I think gonzalez's wins over estrada are relevant here in terms of styles. Gonzalez's short punching, and quick releases would be a key advantage against Lopez. Alvarez was able to have success in this way. An amazing thing about gonzalez that maybe people overlook is the degree to which he's able to integrate offense with his defense. Watching him, he's obviously an aggressive fighter who throws a lot of punches. But at the same time, he's parrying, slipping, blocking incoming.
Exactly. Rosendo Alvarez is underrated, I might add. He's probably the third best guy ever at 105, behind only Lopez and Choco.
"Choco, that fella, how DARE he challenge these guys with his somewhat primitive skills. He's just as good as dead."
