Eubank has the capability certainly but it's one of those fights where you have to make Hearns the favorite. If you're a gambling man and get good odds you bet Eubank though.
Eubank has the puncher's chance, but Hearns is his superior in virtually every department with the exception of chin... I'd favor Hearns 8 out of 10 times
"Popular English Contender" as he was referred to by Sphincter Ring Magazine. :wack: Eubank has a good chance here, Tommy is favourite.
Aye, but only because people wanted to see him get his backside kicked. It's a biiiiiiiiiig stretch to say that Eubanks was popular: he was only popular once he started losing fights (typical British mentality) MTF
Eubend would never have let somebody like Roberto Duran beat him, and he plain stopped the same guy who took out Barkley in a round. I give him a good chance vs Hearns. 2,500 people showed up for his 2nd fight with Thompson so was never popular as such. The preponderance of those who bough tickets for the Benn and Collins fights were Benn and Collins fans.
Lollypop ladies and primary school children all knew who Eubank was, I'll say that much. 97% of people hated that 'That's not my name!' song but they were still exposed to it & it still made bundles of money - very 'popular' music.
Eubank was certainly well known rather than popular though. More than a "contender" too, I don't think the list of middleweights and super middleweights that would have beaten a prime Eubank is that big, he was an excellent fighter.
