GROUND FLOOR - FLAT SEATING £40.00 - £200.00 BALCONY SEATING £50.00 GROUND FLOOR - TIERED SEATING £40.00 for calzaghe-kessler I think the most expensive is the cheaper for floyd - dlh :: But I guess they will outsell floyd vs dlh in the beer sales
& Like REED Said a Couple days Ago,if DeLa vs Floyd Sold Tickets @ the PRICE that Calzaghe-Kessler Tickets R Selling For,they'd Get Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay MORE than 70,000 Fans N Attendance...Probably TWICE that Much... Shit, didn't DeLa Get like 35-40,000 HIMSELF vs Charpentier???...& this was Still Towards the BEGINNING of DeLa's Popularity... REED
I remember Oscar's dream was to have a mega fight at Azteca Stadium in Mexico where Chavez had the attendance record against Haughen. I think it was like 120,000:eeeek: I dont' know if oscar would have pulled it off though. It would depend on the oponnent. His relation with the Mexican audience wasn't always what it is now.
there was about 30,000 closed circuit sales in vegas alone at 50 a pop...many of which were being scalped for 150 to 200 bucks. I'm sure there were a few thousand others out in the cold who didn't get to watch the fight.
Actually. 1. It was a lot closer to his peak, he was an undefeated Welter phenom, pre the stink of the Trinidad defeat. 2. It was in El Paso. Lot of gaps in a lot of fences down there. 3. thread starter, hasn't even got HALF of the tickets listed. 4. The fucking Pound just went OVER twice the Dollars worth. In other words when the ringside tickets are announced, multiply it by OVER 2. 5. Don't tell me that Floyd-Oscar did 15,000 because of ticket prices:laughing: .:nono: Tickets could have been half price and he'd have done well to pull in a few thou more, considering the sort of people it was pitched at. These guys just don't draw in the States like Calzaghe does in GB, and once the marketing men realised that, that was the end of cheap tickets. Better to sell it as a glam bash, jack the prices and cover your end that way. End of story. Like I keep telling you, Brit fighters were doing 35, 40 MILLION viewers on free TV in the 1990's. There was 40,000 at McGuigans fight vs Pedroza at Loftus Road.
Wait a fucking minute here...this is the supposed Mega Glamour Event of the freakin Century, Pastel Shirts, Trilbys, truculent Uncles and big-tittied ho's in abundance, and you are telling me these fucking people were turned off by the prospect of the high ticket prices???? THey specifically used the "glamour" nature of the occassion {like I keep saying, Elvis is dead, so we make do} to rope these people in. People were happy to pay over the freaking odds. It was a no brainer. They could have gone the stadium route but why let all the trash in off the street, when you run the risk of not even filling the damned stadium. It would have fucked the whole evening. 12,000 beaners roaring abuse at LL Cool J and the rest of the Pastel Platoon?? It would have taken Spielberg to disguise the empty seats. So, they did the smart thing. Medium sized Indoor joint. Jack the prices up and cover any shortfall that you MIGHT have had were it in a stadium. That shit is infectious. Before too long its like the inverse of Wall Street in 1929. Everybody wants IN. Price goes up. Undoubtedly, considering the nature of CLIENTELE {I use the word loosely} that attended that fight, a stadium would have been wholly inappropriate. But they could never have filled it ANYWAYS, and TO BOOT, it would have ruined the evening. Oscar got high numbers in El Paso by opening a stadium to the people who were closest to Oscar, in other words he catered to his roots at an untainted stage of his popularity. Even at that, he did 40,000 tops. They would have gone for a bigger joint, but it wouldn't have sold out. Hatton could do 80,000 at Wembley Stadium................he could LOSE TOMORROW and do 80,000 at Wembley in a fortnight. Thats real popularity. Cheap in, expensive in, he does the numbers, regardless. I think this is a concept that Americans don't fully comprehend. As many as 35,000 Liverpool "Soccer" fans made a trip to Athens recently to watch their team play in the European final. Most of them travelled in the hope of being able to buy a ticket in Athens, for as much as £2000 in some cases. Factory workers remortgaging their homes to get down to Athens. Like I said, cheap in, expensive in, or free in, we pack Stadia out. Think Benn-McClellan, a glorified pit-bull fight that had 30+ million watching on Telly and 20,000 in attendance.
This is no fucking wedding event....you are going to see a lot of skin head tatooed Nordics and crazy drunken Welsh and Brit crackers all waiting to kick the shit out of each other. Its going to be a wild night. None of your B-list movie bollox here. This isn't Epsom. This is a dogfight in someones barn. Even the likes of me will be happy to watch this one from the sanctity of my sofa.
:crafty: Well, I do believe the Vikings tore the spine out of Britain, burnt and pillaged the fucker, conquered it, OWNED it,.. ______________but by the looks of most Welshman, I think the horn-heads must've missed a bit, and let the Arabian descendants of Arthur Abraham and Xerxes lie low in the oasis, where they QUIETLY banged the knockers off them snow white broads and impurified the gene pool forever. The ravaging fish-mouthed barbarians couldn't get to them in time I am afraid,........and Joe's got that look about him :crafty: ,........ , this is an unprecedented strain of war..Vikings verses the Persian-Tafs..:crafty:..it's never happenned. :bears:
:eeeek::: someone in another thread said that it will sell over 70,000 tickets and that would make it bigger thant DLH vs. Mayweather....never....those tickets are cheap..those are the kind of prices you pay for an ESPN FNF card...or a Showtime show....
,...I've never understood the mindset of your typical Fraud groupie, they seem to perpetually lust towards this subject, it's like a soft mental chew of indulgence, a slow and scrumptious mastication of thought on Fraud's wealth and popularity, I detect there's sexual stimulation involved,..or maybe it's related to the "Daddy loves watching baby boy opening his presents" syndrome?..:dunno: who the fuck could possibly know?
1. That Fight was NOWHERE Near DeLa's MARKETING Peak...It was @ the BEGINNING of his Popularity... 2. Let's NOT Pretend that There AIN'T Any "Gaps" N Europe...How Else Would Calzaghe-Manfredo Draw 35,000???:dunno: Despite your CONTEMPT for All Things American, there's NOfuckingWAY N Hell that Calzaghe-Kessler is a "Bigger" Fight than DeLa-Floyd:nono: ...Not Really Sure WHY it's Soooooooo IMPORTANT To U Euro Cats to COMPARE the 2 Fights, but there IS NO Comparison... Bottom Line, the TICKET PRICES for the Fights ARE NOT COMPARABLE...Not even Close...For the 3rd Time,if DeLa-Floyd Tickets were Sold @ the Price of Calzaghe-Kessler Tickets, they'd SHIT on 70,000 EASILY... When U're Practically GIVING Tickets Away,U SHOULD Have 30-40,000 Consistently...That DOESN'T Make U a "Draw",Sorry...w/Out Referencing the TICKET PRICES,who Gives a Shit if Barry McGuigan Drew 40,000 vs. Pedroza???:dunno: ...U Cats "Conveniently" Leave THAT Tidbit OUT of your Argument EVERYTIME.... The Worst Part is,if Kessler & Calzaghe were AMERICAN,U'd Agree 100% w/REED... REED ps. WHYthefuck Does it ALWAYS Take YOU 2 Posts to Reply to ONE of REED's Posts???
That's only WHAT, a Couple THOUSAND Dollars LESS than Ringside Seats for DeLa-Floyd???:dunno: REED:laughing:
