How does Corrales do against the following opponents, at 140?

    Hatton
    Cotto
    Judah
    Pacquiao
    Bradley

The real question is, is the 140 Corrales more like the 135 pound Corrales who beat Castillo? Or more like the 147 pound Corrales who choked against Clottey?

He'd get stopped by every single guy on that list.

I don't think Chico was meant to be effective above 135.

Adding to this: I'd probably give Chico a puncher's chance against Judah, Hatton, and Bradley, though I'd make him an underdog against all three.

Cotto and Pac would both destroy Chico at 140. Pac would do so early.

I'd argue there's a better chance of Pacquiao winning in the first round than Chico winning.

Corrales could've carried 140 if he moved there when he still had something left. He was done by the clottey fight, after the Castillo and casamayor wars, the partying, as well as boiling down to lightweight for years

At the very least he'd get beaten up.

I despise Bradley. And Chico is one of my top 10 all time favorite fighters. However, Bradley would be too strong and dynamic for Chico at 140.

Agreed, although his best chance might be against Hatton due to styles. Possible that he could catch Ricky with something big coming in.

I dunno about all that. I feel like both Chico and Castillo were better suited for 135, and wouldn't have been as effective at 140.

For example, Castillo was very physically strong at 135, but Hatton threw him around like a rag roll at 140. Granted, Castillo was past his prime, but the point stands.

Corrales was past it by the time he got to 140, but my gut feeling always was that it just wasn’t the right weight class for him.
