But Marquez played along with the weight. Pacquiao usually has stiffer penalties...and that's not just against DLH.

Cotto would likely have to pay a lot more than $600,000...especially if it's two pounds.

NO....Cotto should not play the Mayweather game....

Roach and Pacquiao WILL WALK...they have toooo much to lose...they will walk away and fight Mayweather in 2010...rather that risk getting KO'ed by a healthy 147 pounder in Cotto...

agreed. unlike in the case of JMM with PBF, Pacquiao doesn't need Cotto to make a lot of money.

I think Cotto should do it. It'd be good for the sport and hopefully work towards getting rid of this bullshit where people try to take advantage of an opponents weight by draining him out or weighing in more than him. If you can't make your oppositions weight, then fucking fight someone in your weight class.

Also why shouldn't Cotto do it? Look what it did for Floyd. Yeah, he'll have to pay a fine but if it means he's going to be so much bigger and stronger than Pacquiao and dominates or KO's him, then that fine ain't nothing but an investment.

Also I'd be shocked to see team Pac leave this fight at the scales and not go through with it because of the weight. Only time I recall that happening is with Coralles-Castillo III and that fight wasn't nearly as big as this one. The pressure to go through with it would be too big and I couldn't see Manny saying no to his fans like that.
