Dec 8th fight is far from being a given for either fighter, but if Mayweather accepts to fight Cotto, it will be more tactical, running, movement type fight.

If Hatton wins the fight, will this be the potential FOTY of 08, and if so what tangibles and intangibles would make it so?

Hatton would hold Cotto for his life. It would be an ugly fight.

seriously! Hatton hasn't had an exciting fight for a while. I don't know why he still carries that reputation. :dunno:

    Cotto would beat him down.

Sounds good, but if you clearly watch Hatton's fights, it wouldnt be too competative i think. Hatton holds too much and cotto would be the pressure fighter. Hatton is too small for cotto.

    Total bollox.

Hatton would offer 10 time as many punches and 10 times the number of angles as Shane did tonight. Shanes initial strategy was to right-hand Cotto out of the fight. When that failed he decided to take a bit of a beating for a few rounds then try something else. And Cotto still has chin issues. Shanes style and Hattons are so utterly removed from each other as to be incomparable, and, Shane is at the wrong end of his career, whereas Hatton is at his peak. You have nothing to go on from the Mosley fight.

Ever time Hatton fights, Ron King comes out with a prediction of Hatton's destruction along with a boast of how much money he is going to win when Hatton goes down.

You can't blame the guy for holding a special hate in his heart for Ricky by now.

Hatton would beat Cotto. If Mosley's body shots can get to Cotto at all, Hatton would fold him in half. :kick:

Urangos weak ass body shots had Hatton holding for his life. Cottos body shots would put a whole in his ribcage.

DEMARCUS CORLEY had Cotto hurt and staggering around the ring like a drunken wino and he's supposed to strike fear in the heart of a guy like Hatton?

Urango is bigger than Cotto again and light years fresher than Mosley. In terms of pure strength and digs to the ribs, he's far removed from the tired Shane that we saw this evening. The one abiding memory I will take from this fight is of Shane getting on his bike...then fininshing the last 4 rounds....going forward
...it should never have been like this and the fact that it was raises questions which I fear will be overlooked in Cottos moment of victory.

I seem to remember the Irish pub bum Eamon Magee having Hatton doing the drunk dance once upon a time.

Cotto doesn't even need to fight Hatton. He could just fight Hatton's daddy Collazo as a tuneup, or he could just be content that he just beat Hatton's granddaddy. Shane.

Obscure tangential tertiary argument. Cotto showed enough of flaws to keep me happy for now. If that upsets you, tuff. See you Dec 8th.:warning:

Well he was old and shot when Hatton decided to fight him. His brother just died and he was fighting for free.
