I had a question for the forum. Both Cotto and Trinidad were great fighters but between the two who was greater. I think most people will automatically say Tito because he was a fan favorite because of his style. But I think Cotto being a 4 division Champ gives him the edge in terms of greatness.

Who would win if they were both in their prime? I think at 147 prime for prime Cotto would also expose Trinidad. Tito relied too much on his power and left hook. Cotto was more versatile and could box/brawl. I just think Cotto would outbox and hurt Trinidad a more complete fighter.

Wrong section of the forum. I'll move it for you.

And you would be alone in that thinking. Trinidad would execute Cotto, and there isn't much of an argument against it.

Cotto wasn't particularly hard to hit, wasn't particularly hard to hurt, and his stamina was trash.

That doesn't bode well against one the deadliest, most accurate punchers in welterweight history, who had great stamina.

Oh, and Trinidad was MUCH mentally tougher. Cotto wasn't a huge mental midget.... but he was a mental midget.

Mig wasn't more complete either. People tend to underrate the skill level of the young Trinidad, before he fell in love with his power.

Trinidad was just a much better talent, and fighter. Its really that simple.

    Cotto would out-box Trinidad...

for two rounds. Then Tito hits him with multiple left hooks and does that YMCA dance after he knocks him out

Cotto's left hook would look godly in the second round. Then he'd get splattered at around the same time Carr did.

Oba Carr is the best guy Cotto beats from the 90s.

He loses to Trinidad, Oscar, Ike, Whitaker, McGirt, and IMO even Brown.

Can’t see how Cotto wins. He’s just completely outmatched here. Trinidad would start slow and Cotto will have some success but it would soon turn ugly.

Trinidad would stop Cotto in about 7 rounds. Simply punches too hard and Cotto doesn’t have the best chin I’ve ever seen.

I’d take Forrest and Mosley over Cotto as well.

I don’t even think Cotto beats Errol Spence. He’d have problems with Bud also.

Not sure either way about to call those matchups. Meaning Spence and Crawford. I'm man enough to admit that I might have overrated Spence four years ago. I dont think Spence vs Cotto would be a blowout either way. If Cotto had good stamina, I would make him the solid favorite, but he didn't. Therefore I think the most likely outcome is Spence out-fighting him late.

Bud, I suspect would beat Cotto, but give it a few weeks. If Porter beats him, that prediction is gonna look stupid. But I tend to think that Crawford is a better fighter than Cotto.

Cotto would definitely beat Brook, Thurman, Porter, and Garcia.
