    C'mon, this isnt overrating Forrest, just asking. He looked good last night, better than I expected him to. I'm a Floyd fan, but I admit what Forrest did to Bumlomir was more impressive than what Floyd did. Sure Bumlomir tagged Forrest more than he did Floyd, and swelled him, but thats only cause Vernon took more chances than Floyd, and FOUGHT with Bumlomir. He coulda easily just boxed, made it boring, and won every round w/o breaking a sweat. Instead he fought, and still kicked Bumlo's ass and won 11 rounds. I thought he was shot, but based on last night, he appears to still have some left in the tank. Ive never been a fan of his, but I admit at his best he's a very good fighter. How would he fare vs those guys..... Floyd, Margarita, Williams, and Cintron?

    I think he'd beat the current version of DLH, and unfortunate to say, he'll most likely always have Shane's number, just like Shane has Oscar's number.

    Forrest always had a lot of talent when he could do his thing. I guess Baldy couldn't press him:lol:. I think Forrest matches up well to the rest of the middle weight behamoths.

    Frankly I am confused because the Mayorga that dominated Forrest IMO was explosive but lord knows we have not seen Mayorga fight at that level for years.:dunno: At any rate as long as he is not overwhelmed Forest is a threat.

    Vernon COULDN'T MISS Margarito w/his Jab...& he Hits HARDER than Paul Williams,so Margarito would SERIOUSLY Need to TIGHTEN UP his Defense,if he Planned on BEATING Vernon Forrest...

    Floyd wouldn't Engage Vernon...It'd B Hit & Run All Night...Vernon would have to Fight as AGGRESSIVELY as he's EVER Fought,to Beat Floyd...& He'd Leave himself Open for COUNTERS All Night Long...Sad to Say,but Floyd can Probably Stink Out the Joint & BEAT ANY Fighter N the World,ANY Weight Class...INCLUDING Vernon Forrest...

    If they Fought TODAY,REED Thinks Vernon's a Little Tooooooooooo SEASONED for Paul Williams...Similar to Margarito,Williams is VERY Easy to Hit...REED Thinks Vernon's Jab & Right Hand would AFFECT Williams' Workrate...But Williams is STEADILY Improving so it would B N Forrests BEST Interest to Fight Williams Sooooooner than Later...

    Vernon DOESN'T have the Best Chin N the World & we All Know Cintron is 1 of Boxing's ELITE Punchers...The Question is,which is the REAL Cintron???...They Guy who GAVE UP ON HIMSELF vs Margarito,or the Guy who REFUSED to Lose vs Estrada???...Cintron would HAVE to Overcome Adversity of some Sort &/or a DEFICIT to Beat Vernon...But he'd ALWAYS Have the Proverbial "Punchers Chance" Of BEATING Vernon...

    Margarito should learn to run more, and implement a strategy of backing into one corner after the other, twisting his back then ducking his head down below belt level before either clinching or spinning away, he needs more of a "stealing rounds" approach if he's ever going to make a billion kazillion dollars and make me feel good about his personal wealth.

    Before he does that he should learn how to punch straight, and how to do something besides block punches with his face.

    I agree with this post. Of course, I have to comment on a Forrest-Williams matchup :cheer: That workrate would'nt be offset by just a jab. I think if anything it'd be similar to what Margarito experienced early on because Forrest is used to being the tall man in the ring; not so against Williams. You're essentially spotting the guy 2 or 3 rounds early just waiting for him to cool off a bit (I think he throws so much out of nervous energy first, then later in the fight he throws high off a second wind). If Forrest throws the same kind of heat against Williams that he did against Baldomir, He'd also have to put up with holding...and lots of it. Right now, on championship experience alone I say Forrest is the favorite, but heaven help him if he can't throw like that the next time out :bears: Imagine if he had the same resitance he suffered against Quartey, except by a much larger and more active young fighter...ouch.

    Nothing would excite me more than Margarito preserving his zero, and having lots and lots of money, lots and lots and lots...I want to see that money, I want him to spread it out across his fingers like a poker hand, and kiss it infront of the cameras. It's the idea of never losing and being extremely wealthy and popular, that makes me a boxing fan,........something I never, ever have been,...:stir:

    Theres no point commenting, or debating with this clown. Phony can do no wrong in his eyes. He talks of Phony as if he was a prime Duran, when really he's NOTHING more than just good. He bashes Floyd for having no heart when his former hero Tszyu quit on his stool. And he accuses Floyd of avoiding threats when his hero Taylor has only fought one legit middleweight in his career(Pavlik will be the second). He's a walking contradiction, and he's the most biased poster on this forum, which is saying alot cause theres ALOT of biased posters on here.

    When DOESNT he mention Floyd?

    Someone who hates on a fighter THAT much, and mention him that often can only be envious deep down inside. Envious cause none of his favorite fighters are as good as Floyd.

    A Forrest Cintron fight would be awesome, someone is going down and me thinks brutally:cheer:

    Vernon beats Margarito the exact same way he beat carlos last night, something tells me Margarito doesn't have the same chin as Carlos though.

    A Vernon/Williams fight is interesting. I tend to lean torwards Vernon on about the same reason REED stated. The experience right now would be the factor IMO.

    Vernon/Floyd is a toss up IMO. Floyd would never engage Forrest. He would try to stick and move, the problem would be Forrest has decent skills. Vernon's jab is good. Vernon could stay in the middle of the ring, waiting for Floyd to come in and just utilize the jab. I could see this fight going either way by SD or MD depending on what the judges wanted to score.

    I think Forrest beats Oscar in a very entertaining fight. Forrest could stop him in the later rounds with Oscar's conditioning sucking the way it has lately.

    The real debate isn't Forrest vs any of these guys. The question in my mind is there anyone at 154 currently that can beat Forrest?:dunno:

    So Baldomir, who moved from 147 to 154 is not a super-welter;

    But Quartey, who moved from 147 to 154 is a super-welter;

    and also says he will move back down to 147, because he is more comfortable there.

    Neil explains the boxing world, lesson A. :bears: :bears:

    difference being quartey has actually fought at 154 lbs and holds a victory over a guy in the top ten. quartey hasn't fought at welterweight this millenium and he had weight problems his last few years at welter. your sarcasm is appreciated.

    Firstly....

    Shane DOES NOT have Oscar's number; he lost that second fight, I don't care what the judges said.

    Anyway..

    He loses to Floyd, beats Margarito and Cintron. Williams is a toss up.

    you think Floyd could beat Forrest? i don't think so. i don't think he'd get past Forrest's jab. he'd have to go after Forrest, but he'd get hurt in the process. he'd probably end up losing a decision, playing it safe, and losing rounds.
