Crawford vs Garcia

Crawford, because he really is slick and black. It seems the weight killed him at 135. He looks to have real mustard on his shots at 140 and is sharp and economical.

This guy he fought tonight was scrubbish and garcia always has that huge hook, but it's not a good fight for him ashe traditionally struggles with technically sound guys who have poise.

 

Crawford via late stoppage. I just see him picking Garcia apart.

 

A stoppage wouldn't be surprising. Peterson was beating the Hell outta Garcia in the late rounds, and Peterson could never be considered a P4P type technician the way Craw is.

Not a clean stoppage, but at some point it's probably target practice and Angel stops it.

I agree with Irish, Crawford looked better than ever at 140. He looked faster, snappier, more powerful.

Sure, he probably does beat everyone at 140, but shouldn't he have to beat someone other than "Dulorme" to get the #1 ranking? :dunno:

I think Dulorme in rounds 1-3 was more competitive than Garcia would be. Faster better jab. Garcia too slow to even lay a hand on Crawford. And Crawford is way too slick going in and out to get countered by Garcia. BAAAD matchup for Danny as I already wrote in the other thread.

If ever there was a nickname that didn't fit it's "Swift". Danny is slow handed. He makes up for his slow hands with good timing, but against Crawford the handspeed disparity would be too big. Unlike Khan, Crawford doesn't have the chin of a child and the IQ of a knat.

 

Irish is absolutely right. Crawford is meant to be at 140. Definitely looks sharper and better as a junior welter.

Against Gamboa, it looked at times as if he was having trouble getting off early.

Last night, he was having no trouble getting off. He was simply biding his time and setting Dulorme up.

 

Not really... There is nobody else who showed he could hang with him. He really improved a lot in his last fights. He would have stopped Burns in that form. If anything he was quite hesitant against Burns but it seems he really likes to take his time to study his opponent but as soon as that is done he really fucks them up royally. in boxing a > b > c often doesn't work but I really think you can gauge a lot from Petersons performance in regards to how Crawford would fare against Garcia. First of all he wouldn't run from the get go. He would study Danny but stand his ground. Garcia couldn't just chase him because he would always have to respect his power. If Garcia gasses like he did against Peterdude he is toast. Crawford might not be as relentless when coming forward but he is way more precise and powerful than Peterson and would stop Garcia late in that scenario.

 

For the record, I would have picked Crawford to beat Garcia even had Garcia impressively beat Peterson. Crawford is simply a much more dynamic talent than Peterson.

But seeing Peterson not only outbox Garcia, but beat him up, yeah..... Crawford would be teeing off on Garcia late.

Crawford's a mean motherfucker. That's why I like him.

But yeah, seems to me that in order for Crawford to lose, he'd have to take on the elite at 147.

Can't see anybody beating him at 140.

It's possible that Garcia just has Matty's number.

Garcia can do well against hittable guys like Matty, Provo, Rios, ect.

Not a technician like Crawford though.

 

Crazy as it sounds, I'm thinking even Broner could give Garcia problems. Simply because he's quicker handed than Danny. I don't think Broner would win, but he would tag Garcia up in spots.

Garcia's stamina is so shaky that I could see that playing a role against Crawford.

I'm with Xplosive. Crawford is simply just a superior talent to Peterson and he would do a real job on Garcia. Danny's disadvantage in hand speed would show, and Crawford's own power would make Garcia reluctant to throw with conviction.

Garcia would beat Broner, but it might actually turn out to be more competitive than we may have thought before.
