Just watched the year end edition of Lampley's show. Margaret Goodman named boxing 'Person of the year' for her work with VADA. Nonito Donaire named 'Fighter if the year' for being the first boxer to agree to true 24/7 365 Olympic style testing. Rather than ignoring the massive PED issue in boxing HBO is airing it out. That's very important. Advocates at that level can force real change.
The PED issue has to be aired out, otherwise a few flunky fighters or guys the press don't like will cop all the blame and then the issue will be swept under the carpet. It says a lot that they gave FOTY to a guy who did some tests......if Gatti was around today he'd be getting FOTY...::
I absolutely loved the fact that Lampley and Jones made a point about that after he knocked out Arce last. His win and power at the higher weight are beyond any speculation now. His is, without a doubt, my favorite current fighter. Good job Jim!!
