I could put this in MM, but fuck it just put it here.

Who wins between the current Ennis and the Spence who beat Brook?

It’s a Dogfight, but REED Thinks Boots Eventually Stops Spence Late or Wins a Close Yet Clear Decision…

Boots Would Have the Same SPEED Edge Bud Had Over Spence and Counter Him Accordingly. Boots’ Chin Seems Fairly RELIABLE Also, So While He’d Eat a LOT of Leather from Spence, It Wouldn’t Be Enough to DETER Boots’ Superior Offense…

Out of 10, Boots Beats Spence 7 Times, Maybe 8…Helluva Fight Though…

Yeah, agreed. I think Boots is better than EJ ever was.

I’d favor Ennis over Spence, Thurman, Brook, etc. I’d probably make him the favorite over Cotto as well but he does get hit a lot so it would be interesting for as long as it goes.

How would he would do against Trinidad, Quartey, Mosley, De La Hoya, Forrest, etc?

There's no way to discern how Ennis would do against a Trinidad, Oscar, Quartey, Mosley right now. We made that same mistake with Spence 8 years ago. Not gonna make it again.

Boots is hittable, I sure as fuck wouldn't take him over Trinidad. I'd pretty confidently say that Felix would ice him.

Picking Ennis over Spence and Thurman is more feasible.

We would need to see Boots whup Vergil before I entertain the idea of him going up against a Trinidad or DLH. Because Vergil isn't even as good as those guys, so if Boots can't take Ortiz...

Sad thing is, I think Boots would beat Ortiz, which makes me all the more mad that he avoided the fight.

Ortiz is probably Boots only challenge at 154. How he does against him will definitely give us an idea of how fights against the 90s welterweights would go.

I really hope he isn’t planning at staying at 147 and waiting for little ass Teo.

How is ortiz the only challenge there ?

He barely beat bohachuck. Murtazaliev is a huge 154lber who smashed tszyu. Madrimov was competitive with ortiz and crawford. Fundora is 8 feet tall and has two titles. Ramos and conwell can both fight.

The division is deep with plenty of legit opponents for ennis

I agree, but the thing is -- Ortiz would be the win that could put Ennis on the mainstream map.

Murta is the best guy at 154 right now and would be Boots' biggest threat.

Charles Conwell? Decent guy, but lets be real... Boots would butcher Conwell.

conwell is better than stanionis. ennis would butcher a lot of guys, he's a great talent but lets see it.

i like ortiz and he's on a good run but beating him wont put ennis on any mainstream map. no one knows ortiz. beating garcia or crawford would put him on that map

Hard to say since Ennis never fought anyone noteworthy yet (no, Stanionis don't make thr cut, not even close actually). Spencer resume is far from a murderer's row but he beat much better opposition nonetheless. However I've been high on Boots since I saw him beat Abreu and think he has an higher ceiling than Spence ever had.

I don't know. Spence having a tough fight with a damaged Brook, and his own relative struggles with the good but ordinary Porter makes me think that if there's anything truly different or special about Boots then he gets the W here.

But has Ennis really passed tests as stiff as Porter/Brook (not to mention the better Spence) just yet?
