Good one. Grant never fought anyone like Haye and Haye never fought anyone like Grant. No, Grant is not like Wlad, not even close. I'd probably go for Grant, he took Golota's best stuff and came back to win. Haye, on the other hand, is a cunt.
Haye's "smart" ,.. he's "smart" ,.. you gotta love it everytime an editorialist gives a crook the big tick. That's what ya call the persuit of pay per read.
If they fight prior to the Golota fight then Grant easy. If they fight post Golota then maybe Haye. Here's the thing before the Golota fight everybody thought Grant had Tua chin and if Haye thought that he would run for 12 rounds (or try to ) while avoiding exchanges as much as possible and not returning or initiating much fire power. If it's past Golota and Grant's chin is exposed then he MIGHT be a little brave and take Grant out but again strong possibility he doesn't . The man simply didn't have the balls. He had some skills and quickness and power but no balls at all. Look at his fight with Valuev ? IF his fight with Valuev never went down everybody would be screaming oh Haye would have destroyed him. Valuev was a bum. Yes he was a huge bum with no skill at all but what did Haye in reality do ? He ran like a scared little bitch and ended up winning a decision in a fight that was a toss up.
But that's the point I was making. Haye wouldn't know about Grant's chin and would assume like everybody else has that it's rock solid hence fight like a fucking pussy.
Good point. In fact it could be a repeat of Wlad vs Haye if Haye gets to thinking that Grant is too durable for an all-out {3 or 4 punches} assault from Haye. Grant would also have better musculature, better shorts and better earrings, so I am not sure Haye would fancy his chances.
Get real, Haye would KTFO Grant. Saying Haye would lose to Grant would only seem to diminish Wlad's win further, btw.
But Mike Grant was severely underrated!!!! And yes, rooting for Haye would be the easy step...give Wlad a toe-hold {ha ha} in a "previous" era......but I think Grant would beat him, not because Grant is so special, but because Haye is a guy who responds to "auras" and "reputations" and such like.
Grant was the most embarrasing hype job in the history of boxing. Most hyped fighters have had some redeeming qualities. Grant had none, except heart. He was just a big athletic looking oaf. He had terrible balance, awkward movements and ZERO chin. He's lucky he didn't DIE in the ring with Lewis.
Fair enough. Getting up is more of a result of heart and recuperation than it is chin...but I do see your point. As such I'll put it instead like this: He has a shit chin.
i remember the Lewis-Grant pre-fight press conference. grant had his glasses and a suit on, spent a long time explaining all the reasons why he was gonna beat lewis. eventually lennox's turn came. he stood up and asked if he could borrow grant's notes. he took grant's big pile of papers in both hands, tore it right through the middle, and shouted in a thick jamaican accent "FICTION!" ::
