Therefore it was better than Gatti-Ward, Morales-Barrera, Foreman-Lyle, Corrales-Castillo etc.

Get the fuck outta here with that Max Kellerman/Brian Kenny (who copied him), Friday Nights fights, direct quote bullshit!!

Don't any of you guys think for yourselves?

Those three fights are all in my top 5 of this decade so far.

    Mosley-De La Hoya 1 doesn't make the top 10.

But it was still a good enjoyable fight.

Of Course they were better...including Foreman Lyle. But Max Kellerman brainwashed so many boxing fans to think that since the aforementioned was fought at an allegedly "HIGH LEVEL" (apparently we saw the very epitomy if the scientific craft in that fight  )...that it was better than any fight between two fighters who brawled.

I'm calling BULLSHIT on that one folks!!:shit:

I enjoy watching Mosley-DLH 1 over any fight you just listed except for Corrales-Castillo.

And I agree with whoever said Tito-Vargas was a better fight.

This thread was actually inpired by you.

This "it was fought on a High level" shit needs to stop. It's not original, and frankly it's not even all that true.

    Morales-Barrera 1&3 and Gatti-Ward 1 are >>>>>>>>>>>Mosley-De la Hoya 1.

    Period.

Castillo vs Coralles 1 was a way better fight than Oscar vs Shane 1. Gatti vs Ward was also a far more entertaining bout, but it was pretty much a club fight with nothing on the line.

I really don't think anyone argues otherwise.

Gatti-Ward I and their trilogy got all the attention, but I thought Gatti's first fight with Robinson was actually better, and the 2nd best fight of their trilogy (3rd fight) wouldn't be in my top 5 list of Gatti fights or Ward fights.

    Yeah...

    From Round 5 ON,Gatti-Ward I was EXCELLENT...But the 1st 5 Rounds were Average @ Best...& the 2nd & 3rd Gatti-Ward Fights R VERY Overrated...

Ward vs Burton was DEFINITELY BETTER than Ward-Gatti 2 or 3...& it was ARGUABLY BETTER than Ward-Gatti I...Ward vs Neary is Better than Ward-Gatti 2 & 3

Gatti vs Rodriguez,Gatti vs Ruelas & Gatti vs Robinson I R ALL ARGUABLY Better than Gatti-Ward I...Gatti-Manfredy was CLEARLY Better than Gatti-Ward 2 & 3...

Gatti & Ward EACH Had BETTER Fights than their Bouts Together, yet their Trilogy Gets All the Pub...

I think Tito-Vargas is an underrated fight. I showed this to one of my non-boxing fan friends and he was very impressed.

With that said, DLH-Mosley I was a good fight. It was entertaining and fought at a high level.

Was it an all-time great fight? No. But it was better than Gatti-Ward I as far as I'm concerned.

Corrales-Castillo I is the only fight which matches the praise lavished upon it. As many times as I've seen that fight I STILL find myself amazed at the blows those guys delivered and received.

Better or more action? Personally I like Mosley-ODLH I better. REED is right about the first several rounds of Gatti-Ward I. The first 5 rounds or so were OK, but not special. I would rather watch 2 top guys having a good fight than 2 guys with VERY limited skills slugging it out like cavemen. A fight like Toney-Jirov to me is way better than Gatti-Ward.

You hate Mosley and you hate Oscar.

I'm surprised you bothered watching the fight.

Besides, at that time you were too busy making Lemmon Lewis Barbie dolls...how would you know what else was going on in the world?

I'd also put Ward's fights with Diaz and Green up there. Those were excellent fights.

perhaps ward-gatti I being on HBO made the fight more exciting than it was. i thought it was a dramatic fight, and it's not like they were some sort of bums.

augustus-ward was a great fight too, but i guess i prefer jim lampley's ranting over teddy's. plus, hbo and espn's production is incomparable.
