Trinidad has about 5 times the drawing power Mayweather has, even now.

For nostalgia reasons, I'd rather see Tito-Dela Hoya II.

As for which fight will mean more, I think both fights mean nothing at this point.

Tito-DLH as it actually has a chance to be an entertaining fight. Nobody cares about PBF anyway

    Neither were fan friendly fights.

    I'd pass on both.

I think atleast a Tito fight would be more entertaining for the fans ...

We don't need to see Floyd jab at Oscars gloves and then retreat again ...

Yeah no doubt. Even a faded Trinidad can beat most of the top people at 160 including Taylor. His style always makes for exciting fights. I just think if Tito beat Dela Hoya in his prime (even arguably), what would beating Dela Hoya in the twilight of his career mean?

On the other end, DLH beating an obviously faded, inactive Tito means just as little. The only reason I'd want to see this fight is to see Tito in the ring again. I'll never forget El Gran Campeon de Puerto Rico.

I agree, this fight can be very entertaining. One wrong move and someone gets flattened!

I think as fans we would be able to bank on the fact that if they rematched , the worse case scenario would be similar to a DLH / Vargas fight which was not that bad ..
On the upside , it could be even more exciting ..

Yeah, but Tito has lost alot of his appeal since the embarrasing performance against Winky.

Floyd vs Oscar 2 is a bigger fight, undoubtedly.

No one will pay for Stinky Wrights Fights.

Lots of people will pay for El gran Campeón Puertorriqueño.

You do the math and tell me which one makes more sense.

What is worse is that Floyd has lost a lot of his appeal in his latest victories

I'm actually a bit more excited about this happening (though I'll wait for an official release from Don King or GBP).

If it does happen, I'll go El gran Campeón Puertorriqueño TKO 11.

Baldomir was a STINKER according to everyone....yet De la Hoya-Mayweather, which IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED that fight...SOLD OUT in hours and is considered in some circles as the richest fight in history.

    So what's your point?

I doubt it did bigger numbers than Tito-Dela Hoya. I'm guessing it did about 1.1-1.2 million buys tops.

It certainly didn't do better than Tyson-Holyfield II, or Tyson-Lennox.

The point is that DLH is the greatest draw in boxing. Right now he might be the biggest name in all boxing, not just outside the heavyweights. He can still sell fights

Really eh? So how come De la Hoya/Campas or De La Hoya/Castillego or De La Hoya/Sturm....didn't come anywhere near those kinds of numbers??

It takes TWO to make a megafight, not one.

DLH-Campas was a big event considering how poor a fight it was. If PBF had fought Campas, even Floyd Sr. wouldn't have attented it

    Muthaf.....(I'll keep it clean)

I'm not comparing Floyd's popularity with Oscar's, OBVIOUSLY, I'm comparing Floyd's DRAWING ABILITY at the moment with ANYONE ELSE, including Trinidad!!!!

Neither fight is appealing to me. Floyd-Mosley is the fight that needs to be made.

Oscar should retire. And Tito should STAY retired.

Oscar's appeal was on the rise due to the Mayorga victory. No one expected that fight to do almost a million buys.

Floyd didn't bring much to the table fan-wise.

HBO spent a TON of money promoting the fight and that had more to do with it than anything Floyd brought to the table.

In fact, Floyd hurt himself more than anything else. If you're Madison Avenue and you've seen Floyd acting like a thug for months and talking shit, how attractive is that?

I'm not a Floyd fan, but I REALLY think he did himself a disservice by the way he handled himself throughout the promotion. He mistook being colorful for being vile.

I'd rather watch De la Hoya - Chavez III or De la Hoya - Whittaker II.

Being "vile" sells fights though. People PAY to see you get your ass kicked. It worked for Muhammad Ali and it worked for Naseem hamed.

Mayweather may not have endeared himself to the public, but he got noticed.

i want ODH/PBF II. i don't think Oscar could beat Tito, at least not in an edifying fashion. against PBF, on the other hand, he has a good chance of winning in a very satisfying manner.

Ahh because everyone new he would win ...

Yeah , it does take 2 to have a mega fight ....

With that said , what do you think the numbers would have been if Floyd fought Campas or Castillego ? (however you spell it)

Point is people pay to see Oscar. Let Floyd fight someone nobody has heard of and see how much of a draw he is.
