The son following his dad's footsteps? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xL9F-Irm5tQ" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
DIABLO A guy following a trail in a cold winter, gets wounded, left for dead, his thirst for revenge for a wrongdoing to a beloved family member drives him to continue despite the wounds, is helped and healed by Native Americans, recovers and at the end gets his revenge. No, this is not THE REVENANT; this is DIABLO a movie that starts like just another western, takes a turn into the bizarre bordering in El Topo territory and near the climax has a jaw droping twist that justifies the film's title. Not a great movie, since it has some scenes that look like were clumsily written and filmed, but the main essence is of a darn good original western. Scott Eastwood is good and has a star charisma even with what little material his main character was given and the few lines he has. Not the Second Coming of Clint, but the son can shine by himself given the right role in the right film. This film had the potential to be that star making vehicle, but the direction wasn't the best. Still this is a film I can recommend just for its diabolical twist. 7/10
