The UFC looks corrupt as hell here, not that them being corrupt is a new thing. Silva tested positive for steroids almost a month before the fight. They kept it a secret so they wouldn't have to cancel the fight and lose out on PPV buys. Meanwhile, it took 3 days for the Diaz test results to come out. Diaz will probably be suspended longer than Anderson and fined more than him, when Anderson was the only one cheating.
Well its not the UFC, it's the NSAC. They are the ones who didnt get the results back from their own test until after the fight. And IMO Diaz should be fined more and suspended longer. How many times is going to do the same shit?
Diaz has done PEDs before? I thought he was just a stoner? Both should be out of the sport for three years minimum. This is the worst kind of cheating. The UFC's kid glove approach is a disgrace.
Silva's Response will Be, "I Only Used PED's 1nce, to Speed Up the RECOVERY of a Major Injury"... Diaz's Response will Be, "Puff, Puff, Pass, Motherfucker"... REED
silva vehemently denies using steroids. Claims there was a mistake and would never do anything to tarnish his legacy. Diaz claims it was some creme he was using.
Masteron isn't used to speed up the healing process after an injury. Growth hormone along with an anavar / testosterone cycle would speed up the healing process. Anderson was one of my all time favorite fighters, but the testing process must really suck if all these guys they catch for PED use are telling the truth. EVERYONE denies having taken steroids when they get caught.
Yep. The only one that this seems to have worked on was Cung Le. That being said, im willing to give silva the benefit of the doubt. Until the second test comes.
I've never heard someone my age (39) or younger call it "dope". Dope is heroin where I'm from. I've only heard elderly hippies call weed dope. Legal cannabis is the main reason why I moved to California. I grew illegally on the East Coast for 10 years before I moved here. The prohibition laws are going away, slowly, state by state. They'll stop testing for it in MMA when it's legal nationwide.
It's sad that a grown man could be so addicted to pot that he lets it effect his chance to make millions of dollars. Hopefully neither fighter steps in the cage again. Silva has nothing to prove, and Diaz is a just a mentally stunted, crybaby, B- fighter. TFK
Diaz should just go to bellator and fight some competition he han handle. We'd get some fun fights just like we did in strikeforce.
Nick Diaz in Bellator would be fun. I wanted to see a rematch with Robbie Lawler, but that won't happen now. I don't want to see him matched up against Hendricks or some of the other top wrestlers in the UFC.
hows that work if you wagered on the fight. Im sure whoever won betting on silva already collected, and whoever lost on diaz will demand a refund??
All bookies/sportsbooks have their own terms and conditions but 99% of them state the bet result is based on the official result at ringside.
Yeah, I don't think there is any other way to do it unless they don't pay out right away. Although, I wonder, is there generally any delay in payouts so that incorrect readings of decisions that are corrected within minutes are not treated the same?
That doesn't change anything. The Diaz / Gomi fight was ruled a no contest, but everyone knew Nick won. Everyone knows Anderson won the decision this time. I'm not a big gambler, but I think it only works when you can go what happens on the night of the fight. If I'm in Vegas for the weekend, I'd only bet on a fight if I was getting paid that night.
The twisting and turning of the Anderson Silva failed drug test saga continues. Multiple sources close to the situation on Wednesday confirmed to MMAjunkie that Silva failed a second drug test in relation to UFC 183. The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter. Last week, it was announced Silva (34-6 MMA, 17-2 UFC) tested positive for drostanolone metabolites and androstane ahead of his win over Nick Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC) in the UFC 183 main event. (Diaz, himself, tested positive for marijuana metabolites in a fight-night drug test.) That test was administered on Jan. 9 and was considered an out-of-competition screening. The former middleweight champion, however, passed a Jan. 19 test for human growth-hormone, as well as performance-enhancing drugs. The date of Silva’s second failed test is not yet known, and an open-records request made by MMAjunkie has not yet been answered by the state of Nevada. Silva’s case will go before the Nevada State Athletic Commission during a Feb. 17 meeting. He will likely be temporarily suspended pending a formal hearing into the matter, which would take place at a subsequent meeting. The fighter, who returned from a 13-month layoff (due to a broken leg) at UFC 183, faces a suspension, fines and the overturning of his decision win over Diaz at the Jan. 31 event. Diaz is scheduled for the same meeting of the NSAC, as are UFC fighters Hector Lombard and Ashlee Evans-Smith, who also recently failed drug tests for fights in Nevada. Stay tuned to MMAjunkie for more on this story as it becomes available.
